I recently took the family for a 3 night staycation at the recently opened Vintano hotel in Lekki Phase 1. My wife and two kids had a fantastic time here. From the moment we went to inspect the place while we were still making up our minds on where to stay, one of the things that stood out for me was the excellent customer service. Apart from this very important factor, some of the other things that stood out for us and convinced us to give them a try are:
The generously sized rooms - At Vintano, the rooms are larger that your average hotel room, adding to that feeling of home away from home.
The quality of the finishing - The hotel rooms and common areas are very well finished for a 4 star hotel. If you like luxury then you'll love this hotel.
An in house cinema - Yes! There's a well equipped cinema in the hotel for you to enjoy movies with your loved ones free of charge as a guest at the hotel. Unfortunately for us it was not yet functional during our stay due to the fact there only opened a week or two before our arrival. However it's all set up nicely and good to go.
A gaming room - Also not yet functional as at the time of our stay but already fully equipped with children's toys and video gaming machines.
A spa - An extra feature for guests to enjoy during their stay at the hotel. Coming soon according to the hotel admin.
Lovely breakfast for 2 - Most hotels now give only one breakfast free and charge the second guest but not this hotel. Their breakfast was thoroughly enjoyable with a wider variety than most 4 star hotels and very tasty too.
A well equipped gym - This was already functional during our stay at the hotel.
Two swimming pools - There was a rooftop swimming pool at the hotel which had stunning views of the Lekki area. My kids and I had fun at the ground floor pool though.
Smart TVs - An essential these days for those who want to seamlessly connect to YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video or any other streaming service of their choice.
Responsiveness - Anytime we called reception about an issue, it was resolved really quickly.
Quality beds and bedding - we got good quality sleep at the hotel due to the fantastic beds, pillows and bedding materials.
Having mentioned all the above, here are a few areas for improvement that I can suggest to the hotel management:
Get all the key features up and running sooner than later: I'm referring to the cinema, spa, and games room especially. These are your unique selling points so maximise them.
The temperature of the swimming pool water needs to be improved. It was terribly cold despite the weather not being unusually cool that day.
When we arrived with all our luggage, no one came to assist us. Ensure that there's a porter always alert to assist arriving guests where necessary.
In conclusion, I'd say we were very happy with our stay despite some of the teething issues mentioned above. I would highly recommend Vintano hotel to anyone looking for a quality experience at good value for money.
I would like to single out three members of staff for going the extra mile to ensure we had a great time at Vintano. Mr. Tope despite his very busy schedule at the hotel was always a friendly face checking up on us and doing his best to sort out any issues raised. The second person is Mr. Prince at the restaurant, who made us look forward to breakfast time every morning. His professional approach and attention to detail is something that really stood out for us. Last but not least, I'll also love to truly appreciate the I.T engineer, who was always really helpful in resolving issues and playing his part to make our stay more hospitable and memorable.
I probably would have given this a 5 star review if not for the teething issues mentioned above. I plan to stay there again in a couple of months time so if they have settled better by then I'll be happy to upgrade my review to 5 stars....
Read moreTook me a while to write this review because I honestly wanted to give Vintano a chance to redeem themselves but after 3 nights - NO VALUE FOR MONEY! Hot water in the room barely works. I bought a bucket and bowl from Ebeano so I can boil water with the room kettle and bath with warm water. WiFi is a mess. Tea break is a joke. Breakfast has no proteins. Just rice and spaghetti.
There is a major communication problem amongst the staff which in turn translates to bad guest experiences and mix ups.
Rooms don’t get cleaned up until 6pm because they are understaffed.
Also, This is the most CLASSIST environment you can find yourself as a guest and if you are not an ‘I Just Got Back’ - best to find yourself somewhere more welcoming. Front desk is rude and there’s a particular dark skinned one in Mufti who constantly acts like no one is speaking when she is being addressed. But you can see her eyes light up the moment she sees a presumed IJGB or ‘FANCY’ guest step out of the elevator.
The classism for guests is absolutely ridiculous! Even if I jump down from a bike in front of your hotel - the moment I enter the establishment as a paying guest - common decency and respect should apply. We booked for a work trip and even after paying in full - these people were still knocking on doors saying ‘your account is in debit’ 😬 We all paid to be at this establishment and everyone deserves to be treated with respect. Irrespective of how you consider ‘their class’.
The two stars is for the security at the entrance and the cleaners. Quite ironic that they are the ones who understand...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Vintano in Lekki, Lagos, and I can confidently say it was an experience that surpassed all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and luxury that made me feel truly special.
I stayed in a Classic Room, and I was immediately struck by the attention to detail in the design and comfort. The room was immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, and equipped with every modern convenience I could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, providing the perfect night's sleep after a day of exploring the vibrant city.
What really sets Hotel Vintano apart, though, is the exceptional service. Every staff member I encountered was professional, courteous, and genuinely eager to ensure my stay was perfect. The front office staff were particularly welcoming, helpful, friendly and all round awesome. Shout-out to the porters: ISAH and IKECHUKWU, thank you, you're the best!
The hotel's amenities were nothing short of excellent. The dining options offered a delightful variety of both local and international cuisines, each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The serene atmosphere of the on-site spa provided a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Lagos, leaving me feeling rejuvenated and pampered.
In short, my stay at Hotel Vintano was nothing short of extraordinary. Whether you’re visiting Lagos for business or pleasure, I highly recommend this hotel. I look forward to returning on my next visit to this...
