Disappointing, and radically overpriced. Stayed in a Junior suite with river view. Pullout couch had a rock hard "mattress". Many at the front desk could not answer basic tourist questions about the city - the overall experience was one of missed opportunities. The little touches that emphasize quality are missing here; if you're clever and patient enough, you can sometimes improve the experience but why should a guest have to? A few examples... can lights in the shower are pointed at you so it's like a blinding TV police interrogation (you can adjust them but you have to have the bad experience first, then seek to find a way yourself to fix it), the breakfast buffet just uses dinner forks instead of serving forks or proper tongs, so you still have to use fingers to successfully grip many of the cold cuts and cut vegetables, the jars of sugar cubes have no utensils so I guess people just reach in with their fingers? Every morning I had to take a tea spoon and place it in the jar so people could more cleanly retrieve a sugar cube. Silly little things like this a compound to create a 2 to 3 star experience when you're overpaying for 4 star supposed quality.
The floors and door of the junior suite are scuffed up and worn looking. No A/C but the central fan is adjustable and works well in moderate temps. Would not want to stay here when it gets truly hot as it is within earshot of the outdoor entertainment area and a noisy road traffic bridge. With windows open, no way I could sleep with that noise. With mid-50s nighttime temps, the room was fine with window closed.
Housekeeping staff was the high point. No English but very friendly and tried hard to accommodate my few requests. Blackout drapes work reasonably well. Two bathrooms is nice but not for the money. Location is pretty excellent, and a bonus is a Vaskeri (self-serve laundromat) right around the corner. If you have to stay here for location or brand preference, recommend not overpaying for junior suite, so you can mitigate your dissapointnent in how much this place costs for...

Pro's: Excellent breakfast bar daily. Within walking distance of resturants, tourist attractions, hiking trails, parking garage. Located on waterfront. USB plug in on wall receptacles near bed and desk area. Lights in room require a room key in order to turn on and off. Small oscillating fan available upon request at front desk. Lower floor, reception area, lobbies, and resturant were air-conditioned. Distilled water to refill water bottle available near resturant/lobby. Many lobby areas with views of water or street front. Gym on site Employees spoke English fluently. Friendly staff.
Con's: Rooms are very hot. Rooms are very small. Sleeper sofa mattress was very hard. Sofa sleeper was broke, making it very difficult to open and close. Sofa was velveteen and full of dust, lint and stained. No air conditioning in room. Windows will not open without key. Beds only have comforter in duvet cover. Removed duvet cover to use as a top sheet because room was so hot. Comforter was stained. Parking in garage was very expensive. Chose another less expensive garage, walkable within 5 minutes. Extremely busy; global travels using for meetings/conventions. No pool. No self service laundry facility. Room was not very clean. Must have an universal electric adapter.

Read moreThis hotel is conveniently located for the train station and sights of Trondheim. It looks very smart and shiny, but in some important aspects is not up to the standard I usually expect from Radisson hotels. In particular:||1. Very long queues to check in. Despite having checked in online and being a Radisson rewards member, there was no priority given, just 1 slow moving queue of more than 20 people.|2. Curtains in room were cheap and totally inadequate for shutting out the light, which is important in the summer when it is hardly gets dark at night.|3. I had requested a quiet room both when I booked and when I checked in. However, I was given a room facing the street, and so there was a lot of street noise when the windows were open. It was necessary to keep the windows open because there was no air conditioning in the room, and it was very hot with them closed. So at night it was a choice between heat or street noise.|4. The breakfasts were fine (although not particularly relaxing given how busy and crowded they were). I also ate dinner in the hotel restaurant, which was very overpriced for what it was. The chicken tasted artificial and processed, not fresh.||Before I wrote this review I had already spent time writing similar comments on the Radisson online survey I was sent, but when I attempted to submit the survey it...
