Ok for a short stay, but I expected more from a business hotel. My room was not cleaned very well every day and I could not control the temperature (I was told it is centrally controlled), so it was always either too hot or too cold. Bathroom is not well designed; water leaks easily from the shower area to the floor. As others have noted, noise travels easily in the hotel so I was often woken up by the sound of cleaners in the hallway. Minibar is non-existent.
On the positive side, the breakfast was better than most other hotels I’ve stayed at in ASU, although they charge for an espresso and require immediate payment (ie they don’t allow it to be charged to the room). The Juan Valdez cafe in the lobby is a bonus.
Update: taking off a star because my check out experience was terrible. Check out experience was also really bad- staff at the reception was very disorganized and inexperienced. Even though I had already paid for my room, it took a long time just to make an ancillary payment. I actually left to do something else because it took so long, and even after I came back it took another 15 minutes just to have the basic receipt printed out for my room expenses. I was the only person checking out.
I had left my bags at the reception, and was not provided a number or tag. At check out they gave me another person’s bags. I travel a lot, and this was by far the most disastrous check-out...
Read moreI had a great time in Asuncion. This hotel is in a very safe part of town, a little more of the affluent district. The staff is amazing and accommodating. One night I need a wine opener and the rooftop bar lent it to me no problem. Great service. Adequate breakfast a bit repetitive for 4 days but that’s normal. The balcony suites on the first floor are totally worth the apartment upgrade. Amazing outdoor deck and furniture and plenty of space and plates and silverware in the kitchen. Next to a resort that charges much more and can’t be much better. Would highly recommended and stay here to save your money to enjoy the beautiful people and town of Asuncion. |Only complaint would be the noise at night. Even with a sound machine I could hear doors opening. But that’s a little out of their control. Found a few mosquitos in the room so be wary of that if you have outside access but not a big deal overall. Rooftop bar a little small but affordable beers and the pool we didn’t use or see many people in but we were there in the fall. |Don’t skip this place it checks luxury and value. Paraguay is a gem with...
