After comming from a 10hr bus trip from Huancayo to Ayacucho at 5am , i was told to go to Tres Mascaras for its low price and good attention.||||I was told ( and verified on internet before going to Ayacucho ) that the Dorms were 13 soles .||||Once arrived , I asked for a Dorm and was told that only a private double bed was available for 28 soles.||For not being able to sleep all night due to the worst road in the world from my bus trip, i was more then happy to accept this 28 soles room .||||After paying my room to the old women , she brought me to my room ( last one on the front left side )||The bed was not done and she told me to sleep on top of the bed with only the main thick blanket and uncovered pillow.||||5 minute later , she came knocking to the door and typicaly threw the clean blanket on the desk saying she would make the bed later today .||||I was already wondering what the hell was wrong with this place.||||So i decided not to make waves and took the pillow cover and a blanket to at least cover the bed and pillow and be able to sleep a bit . ||||at 7 am , i started hearing an horrible banging noise like if someone was trying to escape from a room and was trapped.||I was so tired that i never realised that it was in fact HER THAT WAS PUNCHING LIKE A CAVEMAN ON MY ROOM DOOR !!!!||||5 minute later ( after continuous Super hero knocking on what i thought was someone fighting on another room), i saw her face come in the room saying someone else was going to take the other bed in my private room.||||Do i need to tell you that i got dressed and gave her the keys back after wishing her an happy life .||||This place is totaly to forget , especialy because you can have many options of single private room just by the side of the cruz del sur bus terminus .||||Worst tenant i ever saw of my life !!!||||I really thought i was making a nightmare when i woke up....but no, that was real !!||||Can you...
Read moreWe were looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Ayacucho. This hotel was recommended by the Moon handbook on Peru. When we registered we asked the owner if we had internet access in the rooms and hot water. The internet access in the room was extremely hit and miss. The hot water was non existent. We were on the second floor. In the middle of taking a shower the hot water suddenly stopped. It turns out that if anyone is using the shower on the first floor, the water pressure to the second floor stops. You have two options: either continue having your shower with cold water or get out of the shower and resume it later based on a best guess when the person on the first floor has stopped using the shower. Go figure!! Also don't count on hot water in the morning. The hot water tank is powered by solar panels according to the owner so it cools down during the night so by the morning the hot water taps pumps out water that is tepid at best. Based on our recent stay, we strongly disagree with the Moon guide that it is the best...
Read moreMy husband and I are traveling by bicycle and were recommended this hostal by some other travelers. We were very happy we came here. The lady who owns it is wonderful, friendly and helpful and has hosted other cyclists in the past so she was in tuned with our needs. A place to relax, to store and fix up the bikes, and a place to cook and Wi-Fi.||||We stayed in a private room with a bathroom, it was clean and comfortable. The gardens were lush and the perfect place for us to relax for a few days off the road. The owner had no problem with us using our stove to self-cater in the garden and there are even a few tables and chairs.||||The location is fairly quite, there is a school next door but we stayed here during the weekend. It also is in convenient walking distance from the market and the main plaza.||||Pets are nice and friendly but as other reviewers commented wasn't crazy about the caged birds although they appear very taken care of.||||Highly recommend to other travelers and especially...
