A place for one night. The rooms were so cold that even with 3 blankets I was freezing all night. Very noisy, you can hear every single thing in the whole building as it echoes through. Local people listen to loud music in their room which you can also hear fully in yours. People pushing furnitures at 1am. I messaged the owner directly and he tried to charge 50 soles (more than on Booking) for a night then when I said no suddenly it was 40. Upon arrival the receptionist who didn’t know the price agreement with the owner told me the prices are 40 with breakfast and 35 without. Very bad trying to overcharge tourists! I only booked here because it’s the only place walking distance to the terminal otherwise because of this would have been a big no. I also found it weird that he was sending me messages asking if all was good before 6am before taking my bus from Cusco. And then 2 hours later when I arrived same question again and that there is free hot water available which the receptionist already told me. Second message maybe acceptable but the first…No need. There were also blood stains on the bed cover! No toilet seat. I gave 3 stars because the hot water and pressure of the shower was great, receptionist...
Read moreWe stayed for 2 nights (before and after the overnight stay on Isla Amantani). The two different twin rooms we stayed were clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff are nice, friendly and helpful young ladies. They are also very strong (taking our heavy luggage up and downstairs). The breakfast was nice too.||||Olimpo Inn is located a bit away from the city centre. It took us 15-20 minutes to get there (anyway, a good exercise). However, the inn is nearer to the bus terminal, about a 10-minute walk. Before we came to Puno, the owner of Olimpo Inn emailed me and offered to pick us up at the bus terminal. Thus, I told him through whatsapp the bus company we travelled on from Cusco, the date and the scheduled arrival time. But the bus was an hour late when we arrived at the bus terminal in Puno. We could not find the owner/ anyone from the inn. We waited for some time. Perhaps the owner was busy, forgot the arrangement or... We did not complain because our bus was very late and the free pick up was an extra service anyway. Then we walked to the inn with our heavy luggage. It was a bit tiring especially along the sloping surface up...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay there. The stayed two times. The first room we had was better than the second. First room had a window in the bathroom so it was less humid, the second room the bathroom was always wet...First room was more bright while the other one was darker. But otherwise, rooms are big, bed was ok and you have enough blankets to stay warm. You need to ask to turn on the hot water if you take your shower during the day, showers were ok. Wifi works great! The kitchen is well equipped. There is a breakfast available in the morning that mostly consist of bread, juice, yogurt, and eggs, tea and instant coffee. The hosts are very kind and helpful. They helped us a lot to make all the paperwork to enter Bolivia. Fair price, near one big market, and quiet in general....
