wow just wow!!! To say that I was extremely pleased is still an understatement to the hospitality of Gevi (the person who runs the place)
Location: literally 5 mins walk away from the main square, very cosy and safe area of town.
Amenities: hot shower, fast internet, spacious room (a lot bigger than I expected), towels provided and beds are changed everyday. The house is really cute. I love their small backyard.
But let's talk about what matters most to travellers: hospitality! Gevi and her mom and her little daughter made me feel welcome and at home from the start. Her daughter would want to help me bring my suitcase in (and she's only slightly taller than my suitcase). That was so adorable and made me forget about all the tiredness from a long bus ride from La Paz to Puno. Gevi quickly suggested a decent restaurant in town for me and that was much appreciated because I was dead tired. Gevi's mother also made me smile and happy too. She insisted that I should finish my coffee before boarding the day tour bus waiting outside the house. She reminded me of a kindhearted grandma who always wants to make sure that the kids are well fed. And I could feel that she genuinely wanted to make every person's stay a happy one!
Having travelled quite a bit and stayed at quite a few places, I would say Gevi's place is definitely up there on...

Read moreThis guesthouse is very nice. The shower was a little odd in that we had to flick a switch to have hot water but it wasn't a problem and we did actually have hot water, unlike many hotels we stayed in in Peru. Our room and bathroom were clean and we had many warm blankets on our bed. The guesthouse is also in a good location, near the town centre.||We received a warm welcome and the adorable landlady gave us a kiss and cuddle and waved us off like old friends even though we only stayed for one night! ||The breakfast is probably the best we received in Peru. Apart from bread and fruit, we were also offered eggs or a pancake, which was delicious.||I highly recommend this guesthouse, especially for the...
