The Mosoq Inn and staff, family run, is a very special place. They consistently go above and beyond. Their pride in their vision, hard work, warm service, support, family and sense of place and home is evident, palpable.
My 4 night stay was an important and unforgettable part of my travels in Perú. It was a place that felt like home right when I needed it.
Examples include a 6:15 am trip to the bus station, paid and arranged beforehand with a warm farewell; ride to the Bolivian consulate; support, time and patience with a stressful, prolonged previous to arrival bus ticket payment issue; excellent arranged tours to the islands; warm filling breakfast;comfy warm beautifully made beds and everywhere spotlessly kept.
It is cold in Puno in winter - jackets on outside and inside even when space heaters are working hard in cement buildings. Warm water for a shower takes patience and gratitude.
Most importantly, what kept me most warm and thankful were the Mosoq Inn staff and family, their own warm care, support, and...
Read morePros – the staff was really helpful and friendly. Check in/out were easy. Storing our luggage was not a problem. They helped us print our boarding passes and change rooms when we were not happy with the one they selected for us. Our double room, 304, was very quiet as it was in the back and though it was tiring going up and down the stairs at altitude, the staff was quick to help with transporting our luggage. The electric room heater was fantastic.||||Cons – The room they originally gave us, 201, a triple, was really loud as it overlooked the street and one of the windows was broken and didn’t close all the way. Double room 202 had the same issue. Also, 201’s bathroom window opens to the stairwell which is odd. In 304, the shower had an issue with hot water. It cycled hot to cold, then down to a trickle before finally working properly. Breakfast was limited and the location of the hotel is a 5-10 min walk...
Read moreStayed here for 3 nights in June. Their triple was roomy with 3 warm twin beds. Space heater helped us keep things toasty. The bathroom was large, tiled, and even had a hair dryer. Good pressure and more than enough hot water. Breakfast was simple with limited options, but the fruit was fresh and the coffee was excellent. Front desk was very friendly, they answered all questions and helped arrange transport. The only real issue was the noise - the first 2 night were quiet, but on the 3rd night - Saturday - some random pop up nightclub opened and they played discotechque until the sun came up. It was like a warehouse rave - just an empty building the rest of the time. The street traffic wasn't loud - this thing was. Wifi was also spotty in the room, but always worked in the lobby or at breakfast. I would stay here again, even if a triple isn't available in the back,...
