Hanaq Hostel Sacred Valley — Hotel in Urubamba

We traveled to Peru April 2017 to see Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. For the Sacred Valley portion of our trip we booked the Pisonay Pueblo. Please see my review of that hotel. We were referred from the Pisonay Pueblo to the H'anaq Mayu hotel. The managers of this hotel bent over backwards to try to make our stay as good as possible, including a home-cooked breakfast and even drove us to church as part of the stay. The charge was $40 per person rather than a room charge which for 3 of us cost $120, more than this hotel was worth. The rooms were reasonably clean, but the beds were sagging. There are many animals around this hotel making noise, dogs barking in the night and roosters crowing early in the morning. We were informed by the managers that the hot water would take about 5 minutes to get to us, but when we turned on the shower, it only got warm enough just to take off the edge, even after we all showered. If you can get a less expensive deal, you might want to stay here just because of the service.
