This hotel is good for a stay if you're looking for great views, some spoken English & a luxurious feel. The staff are generally friendly helpful with caring bags up stairs. Room comes with a mini fridge (for which I was grateful - stored my market fruits & almond milk in there). Waterfall shower with side spray option. Hot water!
Of note, there is 1 space heater in the room. In August, the days are warm and the nights get a bit chilly. You can ask for an additional blanket.
The breakfast is ok with options for vegans/vegetarians.
There are stairs you have to walk up to enter, but there is elevator access within the hotel.
There is a restaurant on the 8th floor with 3 vegan /vegetarian options.
Rooftop access with beautiful city views!
UPDATE: The breakfast options decreased over our 4 night stay - as the supply of something became a bit low, it disappeared.
The coffee is dark roast, and not abundant in supply. I was only ever able to get 1 cup. When it's empty, it's done, but maybe that's because we typically went to breakfast with only 30 minutes left on the clock (7 - 9am). Oh, and at 9am sharp all the food is taken away - don't be late!
I developed a bit of a travelers stomach and was concerned about my protein intake - I asked for more egg whites than were provided (you get 2), and while two people told me they were free, on the last day, I was charged S/. 6 for a portion of 2.
If you are not a dog person, you might want to avoid the breakfast area. A veces, el perro esta en the lobby, también. The dog roams freely. El perro es mostly friendly, but is territorial at times (see video). He'll try to...
Read moreDuring my stay there was plenty of room at the Hotel California, so they upgraded me (for free) to the matrimonial suite. I felt like I was living in the master's chambers.
Spacious room with modern bathrooms, comfy king-sized bed, fast internet, and a desk.
From my private balcony, I felt the cool wind in my hair. In the distance I could see the shimmering light of the plaza and Iglesia de Urubamba.
What a nice surprise.
Anytime I had a request, I called up the Captain who looked after my every need.
I had some work to do at my desk in the morning; he told me I can checkout any time I like.
Such a lovely place.
Close to great restaurants like Forty Bistro, El Huacatay, Pizza Wasi, and Migas cafe :)
Read moreWe chose this hotel as our base to explore the Sacred Valley. It is well placed near the main streets in town. It has a contemporary feel.
Our room was on a higher floor and had great panoramic views. The included breakfast was good too and located on the 8th floor with 270 degree views.
The negatives of this hotel is that the floors are a bit loud. We could hear people walking on our floor. Also, our room was on the 7th floor and we were woken up early in the morning by the employee(s) loudly setting up breakfast above us. Also, it is located next to a nightclub so you may not want to stay here on a weekend according to another reviewer. We were here on a weeknight and didn't...
