For the long weekend (June10-12), I went to Baler and stayed at Bay's Inn resort and here is my honest review.
Pros I booked a standard room which is spacious enough for 1 to 2 pax. It's decent and has the basic amenities with complimentary 2 bottles of water and coffee and comes with free breakfast. (buffet for weekends and plated for weekdays although it was buffet during my stay perhaps because its a holiday). Room price is decent too. You can book online. It is beach front and very near some surfing schools and they also offer surfing lessons for a fee. It is also in front of the yellowfin restaurant and near the TODA if you wish to do some land tour. Very near other restaurants and cafes too. LOVE the staff here. They are all pleasant and accommodating. They allowed me early check in at 10am with no fee! Check in and out is a breeze too. They offer free use of beach towels which you can loan from the pool area. And the beach towels smelled amazing! the free breakfast buffet is decent (there's unli pako salad!) Their homemade pan de sal is also good. I tried their in-house restaurant and prices are decent as well. They offer the best fish and chips I've ever tasted. It was really good that I had to ask what fish they used. 😂 I was half expecting grocery bought cream dory and fries but they use fresh marlin and fresh potatoes! And their beers are cheap. Must try for me is their frozen margarita. They also have a bakery here and a coffee shop (not sure if its same management or different owner but I honestly did not like the sea salt latte after trying Alley Cat's) you can use gcash, card or pay in cash they have ramps and a service elevator for PWD and SC access. Pet friendly
Cons I would have given them 5 stars but they really need to fix their drainage in the room's T&B. Peet peeve 😢 (sorry, this is the only reason for my 4 star rating) 😅 Pool located at the 2nd floor has amazing views but they seriously need to clean it though. (not an issue for me since I prefer the beach) need to do some minor updates in the room's interior. it would have been nice to have a faucet or shower at their beach front entrance where guests can clean up after dipping in the ocean to clean off the sand. Though staff are always attentive when floors are wet and dirty.
Overall my stay here was pleasant and would highly recommend it to those...
Read moreThe last time I reviewed this place it was still an old bungalow hotel. However sometime around 2018, they renovated/reopened as a 5 star hotel (a new building). They now have the best ameneties compared to the hotel's I've stayed in Baler (check my contributions to find the other hotels I'm talking about).||||The following are key points that convinced me that they have the best accomodation for a reasonable price (their service/room match the most expensive hotel in Baler in my opinion for a cheaper price 3.2k/night as of writing) :||||Room is spacious even if just the standard room. The room looks like a brand new. The lights can be turned on/off not just near the door but also on the bedside. Room's power depends on the key card that you use to open the room. ||||Their staff is the most accomodating I've ever seen. All of the staff greet you and assist you on what you need. The dining staff is also attentive. When you take a seat in the dining area, they provide water and the menu immediately and answer your questions on the menu. One of the food I liked in the Menu was Mac and cheese. ||||For my Nth time going to Baler, this was the first time that a hotel I stayed in has a housekeeping ringing on our room the second day of our stay to make the bed and replace towels/toiletries. They also provide free drying of clothes instead of letting it hang in the bathroom or window. Staff goes to your room with a laundry bag to put your clothes in and returns it within 20 mins or so.||||They have a nice pool on the second floor and they provide towels you can use after you swim.||||They have a shuttle service for the parking/going to hungry surfer if you hate walking.||||These factors really made me feel that triple A service you expect from a 5 star Hotel||||My only issue in the hotel is that wifi isn't that good when you are in the room. Also 2 persons are only allowed per room (you can add 2pax for a price but they would be in matresses on the floor). So it's not barkada(room...
