OYO 659 Myrna's Pension House — Hotel in Bantayan Island

A cosy and pleasant guesthouse in the heart of Santa Fé. We booked 5 nights and ended up staying for 9. We totally recommend it!

Owners: lovely people, super willing to help. We contacted them through WhatsApp and the communication was easy and smooth all the time.

Room: spacious enough, with a great and new AC, a big smart TV, a table and 2 benches for you to eat, work or do whatever you want. You can see that everything was made with care and love. The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean. We had a kettle and some dishes for a coffee or a meal. The shower is not separated from the toilet (which is normal in the country). The water pressure from the shower could be better.

Location: for us, this is the best location in Santa Fé. You are close to the beach (although we recommend walking 1,5km to the left so you will find one of the best beaches in the Philippines - close to the port), and you have everything close to you, walking distance: restaurants (fancy and local ones), markets, bakery, motorbike rentals etc.

They have motorbike rental services.

The internet worked only outside the room but not inside of it.

They provide water for refills and also a small kitchen if you want to cook your own meals.

They provide hangers for you to dry your clothes inside or outside the rooms, which was super handy.

You can have your room cleaned upon request.

We totally recommend this place and we enjoyed every moment there!

*They have 2 locations that are 1min walking from each other. We saw some comments about the location on Google Maps, but for us...

My 3rd stay at Myrna's already and a go-to accomodation. Note though that Myrna's pension has 2 properties (one at A. Coyoca St. (main) and the other is at C. Batiancilla St. which is just on the next block). I have stayed on both properties and both are great and equal in terms of comfort and experience.

-Their AC is inverter and strong. -They have wifi, smart tv (online streaming available), and some cable channels. -shower is available and water is not salty as compared to other neighboring properties. Pressure is good on 1st and 2nd floor. -the building is relatively new so wall paints etc feels new, bright, and clean. They have impressive high ceiling. the other property has shared kitchen where you can cook. All rooms have dining utensils like plates, cups, etc and even water heater. location is just a block away from restos, stores, pharma, church, beach, etc. Location is really good. staff and owner are very welcoming. They are more hospitable and welcoming than the hotels and expensive accomodations!

First of all, I just want to say that the negative reviews here are not reasonable. This is not a hotel so don’t expect hotel-like amenities. However, for the price, you surely get more than what other accommodations in the same price range can offer. We stayed here for 4 nights, booked 2 rooms for 4 of us. The entire stay was comfortable as the place is well-equipped with the basics. The air conditioning functions well and there’s water 24/7. There’s an Android TV that connects automatically to their wifi, there’s also kettle and utensils prepped in each room. But above all, the main selling point of this place is their staff and manager’s hospitality and kindness. One thing in particular that we appreciate so much is their concern for our laundry. While we’re out it rained so hard and they had the initiative to secure our already dry clothes. I was working on my PC sitting on a bench and the manager gave me a comfi chair so my back won’t hurt. Common sense is pretty common here. 😊 We’ll stay here again for sure the next time we’re back...
