As a couple, we stayed 4 nights at Parrot Resort, and overall we thought it was a great place! It is a little pricier, but worth it! Andreas (owner) took the time to introduce us to the different parrots and explain some interesting information about them. Amazing creatures. Yes they can be loud, but we thought it was such a cool idiosyncrasy for a place to have! 😁 There are many rules at this place, and you are given a briefing on them when you arrive. The rules are printed out and stuck on walls everywhere. To some, it might seem like overkill or too controlling, but each one of the rules obviously came out of some annoying situation that arose sometime in the past, and if I was the owner, I would probably be making similar rules to make sure guests understand how to act on my property. The restaurant food was great with big portions, but we also went to the food mercado just up the street which is fantastic to try too! The breakfast is self service, with plenty to choose from, and the staff will make your eggs how you wish, except poached 😔 We rented some snorkelling gear from here too which was handy. We also availed of the laundry service, and it is the best laundry service we have had so far in the Philippines because they actually use heated water (up to 60 degrees), whereas everywhere else in the Philippines it is all cold washes which doesn’t do the job mostly as the detergent used is cheap too. Our clothes came back smelling so fresh and they were much cleaner! Highly recommend! The pool area is brilliant for chilling between activities/excursions, and plenty of sun loungers you can move to sunny area or chill in the shade. The staff, and especially John were all so kind and helpful. The room was great. Beds are really comfortable which is so important!!We appreciated the thought put into the design, with tinted windows and the filtered water dispenser to refill bottles and provide boiling water. First time I’ve seen this. Every resort should have this! Additionally, the coffee pod machine is a lovely touch, and equally the big zapper racquet that I used to zap any mosquitoes that invaded. A/C was great in the room. WiFi was good everywhere in resort. The complimentary Tuktuk back to the Moalboal town bus station is a nice little service that is provided. Andreas has pretty much thought of everything and makes sure all aspects remain in good condition and nothing is broken. Minor concerns/areas for improvement: - The snooker table is great but the 10pm cut off for the lights is a little early if you are enjoying and back after dinner, but being quiet - The pool bar is lively but never gets to a level of business to create an atmosphere, so if you aren’t a couple like us and are with friends, there are other bars that are much more lively. This is just a function of it being a small resort. - The blind for the window of our room was very hard for us to work out and make it stop at the point where it blocks out the light - the opposing layers kept settling at the same point no matter how much we tried, which resulted in the transparent strips always lining up between both layers. It sounds complicated but I hope Andreas gets what I mean. Maybe we were just dumb! - I don’t see a reason why you couldn’t quietly use the gym later than 6pm if you just had headphones in. Surely it wouldn’t affect the people above if you are considerate. Maybe a rule to review? - maybe adding the option of poached eggs for breakfast - it isn’t rocket science to make them and is another option to offer guests. - suggest to finish paving the dirt track that leads off the main road to Parrot Resort. I know it is a shared dirt track, and it is paved on Parrot Resort property, but this would help entice more people into the restaurant, and make it more presentable. Maybe it is quite difficult to achieve approval/investment due to other house entrances coming off it. Just an idea anyway. Overall, highly recommend this place as a base for yourself in Moalboal, especially for couples. The extra you pay makes a world of difference!

So many great things about this resort! Huge rooms with great A/C and massive beds. Loved the little deck in front of the room with drying racks, that was fantastic. Very well stocked mini bar and snacks in the room, and a huge water cooler for drinking water! WiFi worked seamlessly. The pool was great! And the resort is a good location just down to the heart of Moalboal, couldn't ask for better! They offer a free tuktuk within a certain distance of the hotel which was a bonus! Breakfast as delicious, those scrambled eggs and bacon!! Fresh mango was the best. The food in general was fantastic but will say that the portions were obscene in size, far too large. Even if they were reduced by one third that would be too much food, just sad about the food wastage. (One main between 2 adults would be plenty). We didn't love the parrots in cages. The service was mostly wonderful. Could have had a slightly more friendly welcome on arrival. Also, we assume it was the owner, standing at reception with no shirt on, barking orders at the staff, it wasn't great to witness. We took drinks from our room, in glasses and were enjoying them in the pool (in hindsight this was silly of us, and understand how clear broken glass in the pool would have been a nightmare!) but the staff were yelled at because of it. Made us feel awful. Perhaps instead, put signs up about no glass in the pool and offer plastic cups to guests. We'd happily use them. Lastly, the music. Wow. And not in a good way. We noticed this right across the Philippines but raging to Pitbull at 10am when you're trying to relax by the pool, or really bad "jazz" was rather intense and actually most of the music was just pretty unpleasant. We asked to change the music a couple of times which was great, they let us pick something different. But it made us leave the pool area/resort a few times. Meant we didn't really want to eat there. It was a pity because the quality of food was great! All that being said we did enjoy our stay and would stay again.

Difficult to review due to conflicting issues. . Staff are excellent, friendly and down to earth and only to willing to assist but the apparent European owner lacks any communication or hospitality skills due I think to poor English . Check in was a bit strange with no visible parking area available and then eventually directed to car park area that was overgrown , many no parking signs and caused stains on our vehicle from overhead bamboos. This needs to be rectified. Pool and surrounds are excellent and breakfast was very good and the one dinner we enjoyed was also good. We found the prices somewhat expensive with a flavoured (not fresh fruit) shake costing 280 pesos yet around the corner you can avail of a fresh fruit shake for half the price . Situation of the resort is fine and about a 10 min walk down to the foreshore for snorkelling and plenty of restaurants along the road and of course down at the beach area. This is a very popular backpacking town and having been to many other places in the Phillipines I struggle to comprehend as to why it’s that popular. Diving( 4 dives with 2 diving companies) was ok without being memorable. White Beach is nice with many local food places. Would I return to Parrot House if ever again in Moalboal? Yes I would but there is certainly need for improvement in certain areas.

Okay let' start with the positive: +Staff is very nice, and helpful with everything within their power. When our driver was several hours late we were allowed to store our baggage and sit at the reception/pool area until he arrived. The staff were 5* +Rooms are clean and the housekeeping is great +There was a warning sign that the hot water might run out in the shower, but never happened for us at any time +There's a gym, it's very barebones but it has a rack, dumbbells, a bench and two rings for pullups. With a good imagination you can get in a good workout +Billiards, Fussball and table tennis available for free (billiards are missing several balls tho) +Location is good

Neutral: *Breakfast is clean and tidy but barebones *Pool is clean but kid sized, around 6-7m x 3m, can't do laps or such

The negative: -What's advertised wasn't in the room, I had to show a video that a kettle is listed on their booking for them to get me a kettle (I asked for one but was told it's not included) -"High-speed internet" is considered to be anything higher than 25Mbps. In room 5 it's 4 mbps and dropouts at least once every hour, up to 5-10 minutes at a time. In the bathroom it doesn't work at all. This was really not what was advertised and I had to get my work done at the pool area for internet to not dropout and be a little bit faster (although not up to the legal limit of 25mbps at any time). -No bidet in the toilets -They have 8 parrots, living in pairs, in small cages around the pool area, they are of course very unhappy being locked up and the screaming can get completely out of control at times. To such a degree the staff has to put a cloth around the cage to try to calm down the birds. Breaks your heart to see them locked up (and the screaming is quite annoying if you're ever in the reception/pool area).

For the price we paid (almost 4kP/night) I'd say wait for a potential 50% off or such, it's a little too steep compared to other options.

PS. The day we were leaving (July 6th 2024) I overheard another gentleman wanting to talk the manager regarding the internet, because it wasn't as advertised and that they possibly had to cancel the booking, so I guess it wasn't...

A Tropical Gem in Moalboal: Parrot Resort Delivers Excellence! Our recent stay at Parrot Resort Moalboal was an absolute delight, truly exceeding our expectations in every way. If you're looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and perfectly located base for your Moalboal adventures, look no further – this resort is an outstanding choice. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the genuine hospitality of the entire team. Every staff member greeted us with warm smiles and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, offering helpful local tips and always being readily available for any request. This level of personalized, friendly service made us feel incredibly valued and right at home. Beyond the fantastic service, Parrot Resort offers incredible value for money. We were pleasantly surprised by the good price for the quality of accommodation and amenities provided. It's rare to find such an excellent balance of affordability and comfort in such a popular destination. The resort grounds are beautifully maintained, centered around a truly nice pool. It was an absolute pleasure to relax by the crystal-clear water after a day of diving or exploring, providing a refreshing oasis. The entire property felt wonderfully clean – from our spotless room to the immaculate common areas – which is always a top priority for us when traveling. Crucially, we felt incredibly safe throughout our stay. The resort maintains a secure and peaceful environment, allowing for complete relaxation and peace of mind. Its location is also incredibly convenient, offering easy access to Moalboal's main attractions, including the vibrant Panagsama Beach, diving shops, and a variety of dining options, without being right in the noisy heart of it all.
