We ate here twice, yesterday and today.

The food and service yesterday were better (Dec 31, 2023) than today.

Food today Benedict waffle the one delivered to us has little sauce compared to the one they served earlier than our food. Too dry. The egg yolks were overcooked. Check the photo, it speaks more

Bicol express savory and creamy. I used the sauce of Bicol express as the sauce of my Benedict waffle

Service We arrived earlier compared to another group (Caucasians). But the only lady crew today (Jan 1, morning shift), attended the other customers who arrived earlier than us. (I think she heard me mumbling and came to our table after, giving plate mats and menu).

She put two place mats without “excusing herself”. She put the menu, facing my boyfriend (non- Asian). Why bring 1 menu if there are more than 1 people in one table? In addition, one of the place mats she placed on our table is dirty. I showed it to her and her excuse is THATS THE PIZZA SAUCE, can’t be removed, and then she left. Without getting a new and clean place mat, to replace the dirty mat.

I did not want to ruin my breakfast that’s why I acted nice to the other staff and requested to replace the mat. (Photo speaks louder. )

To the woman staff, please don’t discriminate your kababayan, remember WE, your customers, deserve better service compared to a fast food restaurant, plus we are paying 7.5 percent service fee

To the chef who made my Benedict waffle, it is more professional to come out of the kitchen to talk and explain to your customers that you are running out sauce than serving below standard...

We had a good time here at Smooth Cafe before returning to Cebu.

We had a Pork Silog for 225 pesos, a Cafe Latte for 135 pesos and a Mango & Goji Betty Smoothie for 175 pesos. Do note that they have 7.5% Service Charge, which cost us 40 pesos.

The Pork Silog is the only Filipino food that I can find on the menu. There are choices other than pork, which includes homemade bacon, sausage, and chicken. The silog is served with sunny side up egg, salad and white rice. The silog is done nicely, flavorful soy sauce, stir-fried with capsicum and topped with onion and sesame. The sauce makes the pork mix well with the white rice, but the pork is with a tougher texture. The salad has a nice balsamic vinegar flavor, which blends well with the black olives. The salad crunch and the pork firmness complement each other when eaten with the rice.

Next is the Mango and Goji Berry Smoothie. It is a delight, strong mango aroma, sweet with the goji berry taste. As I'm familiar with the taste of goji berry, I find the flavor works well with mango. But it can be a bit funky if you are not a fan of goji berry. This blend makes me feel so much healthier after drinking it.

Then is the cafe latte, which is nicely done, although the latte art can make some improvements. Can complain much for a nice cup of coffee.

Nice comfortable environment with friendly staff. As this place is very popular, it can get quite crowded, and thus it can get a bit noisy.

Overall, a good place for some western breakfast or coffee, not so much...

We ate here twice and had a strange experience both times.

It looked to have the best brunch options in Moalboal at affordable prices and it was close by our hotel. We walked in and weren't acknowledged by staff even though it wasn't busy. We took a seat and waited a long time for a menu. As I got up to get a menu myself, my boyfriend switched the fan on above us and a member of staff RAN over within seconds telling we could not turn it on. Not a problem, but bizarre that we were not acknowledged for a while, switched a fan on and we had their attention?

We ordered food and coffee, it was average and the portions were small which explains the lower price.

The cafe had an atmosphere so we decided to give it another chance the next day hoping it would be better. We were shown to a table and given menus.

We ordered a berry waffle (P220) and a chicken waffle (P295). When they arrived, half of the waffle was missing from the chicken waffle. We were confused by this, the additional cost meant losing half the waffle as well?

We queried this and the waiter said because the chicken is more expensive, it only comes with half a waffle.

This should've been made clear on the menu. We found the whole situation really strange, and we left hungry from the small portions once again.

Really wouldn't recommend this place...
