Betsy’s Grill and Restobar(Moalboal) — Restaurant in Cebu

Had big expectations since there was about 12 people waiting outside for a table. Got seated quickly and it was efficient. When I was given the menu to look over outside while waiting they never mentioned what was sold out. So when I sat down, I was sad to hear that my first choice wasn’t available. I ordered the pork belly and a beer. Waited 10 minutes for my beer and had to get the waitress attention to let her know I was waiting. My waiter was no where to be found after we took our order. It felt like we were forgotten about in the corner in a way, I don’t know how to explain it. Then after getting my beer, 20 minutes waiting for my food they tell me the potato salad is sold out as a side. They seemed so unprepared for a busy Saturday night. The waitress said she will substitute it for potato wedges and I said no, that was not okay. I asked for coleslaw instead. But being told what they were going to substitute it with instead of asking pissed me off. Got my food another 5 minutes later and the pork belly looked boring. It wasn’t seasoned, it had no meat it was alllll fat. It just seemed like they had a piece left over and just fried it with no care in the world. Meanwhile as I looked around, tables that sat down after me seemed to be getting ribs which was my first choice. Weird. I thought it was sold out. Ate half and gave the other half of the pork belly and bone to the dog next to me. He enjoyed it. Honestly, no care, no flavor and not prepared for a weekend rush. Be prepared to wait, but not...

I just had a burger at this place in Moalboal, right in the thick of the tourist area, and honestly, it was bomb! I mean, seriously good. 🍔 The one small thing – and this is just personal preference – I wasn't totally crazy about the exact flavor profile. But here's the thing: I have to give them huge credit because everything tasted incredibly fresh and high-quality. You know how sometimes you're a little wary of food in tourist hotspots? This place totally Chef's kiss 😘

🍔 Just a heads-up though, it's a popular spot. Especially in the evenings, there's a line outside. Once you do get a table, be prepared to wait a bit for your food too. It took about 20 minutes for my burger to come out, and I was starving after diving, so I was getting a little hangry, haha. Oops!

🍔The service was… okay. The staff were fine, nothing bad, but they weren't exactly super friendly or smiling. From my experience so far in the Philippines, that seems to be pretty common, so I wasn't too surprised. Overall though, that burger? Totally worth it.

Arriving 2 hours before closing, they informed me quite a few items were unavailable. After taking our order we received our drinks and then were informed the 2 items we ordered were not available. I ended up with the ostrich steak, it was just awful, meat was very dry and tested spoiled, it was never fresh, likely frozen. Also ordered the buffalo chicken wings. No buffalo sauce, just a spicy hot sauce and mayo. The waitress said the wings are buffalo style , there's no sauce.

Wood benches are also very uncomfortable, i suggest using the plastic seating if available. The hamburgers looked very good and probably the go to item to order.

Regardless the staff thinks it's acceptable to take an order and then fill half of it then let guests know they will have to make substitutes. I would have left from the beginning if they just said all we have is hamburgers left.
