Resort good for groups of 4 and tourists on a tight budget. I am particularly impressed with the family like, friendly and relaxed atmosphere with owner onsite to assist and cater to guest’s requests and concerns. The staff are very kind and courteous. Employee Yan is very accommodating and helpful as well. He arranged the van for our trip back to the airport. He has engaged in a healthy conversation with guests. Food is cheap, delicious and prepared fresh. The restaurant is open from 7am-7pm. Its not a 24hr reception area but there is a phone number to call for any assistance. |Note:|If you book through a third party travel website (bookings.com, Agoda.com, etc.), Eddie’s Resort collects payment upon check out so ensure that you have enough cash when you check out. They do not accept any credit card, everything is paid in cash. |**1-star taken off due to the following which could be a quick fix. (Apparently, the room that I stayed at is scheduled for renovation in a few months):|1. Bathroom very clean but has a strong smell of sewer from the bathroom migrating all the way to the bedroom.|2. The room has a door knob that can be tricky to lock and unlock and the door doesnt fit the door jamb therefore, the door knob locking mechanism does not go all the way in. I feel as if the door can be broken into easily because of the gap between the door and the door jamb. Deadbolt is there but not working. There’s a gate though that can only be accessed by guest key. Didn’t see any security...
Read moreEddie's is a trike ride from anywhere you might want to go to in the island. Not as popular as most resorts, once the tricycle driver even got lost trying to bring us there.
The view is great as the sea is literally their backyard, though the area is not recommended for swimming. They have an Intex pool set up at the back for folks who want to take a dip, I guess.
The staff are friendly, and there's food / brekky available from 7am-3pm.
Rooms had two beds, but only one blanket. When I asked for another one they said they only provide one. That was really odd.
Bathroom had a bidet and hot shower, some toiletries were provided, as well as 2 towels.
Another issue we had was an unfamiliar type of bug would sometimes appear on the bed - we weren't sure what it was and we'd brush it away when it appeared.
All in all, if you're a hostel type person this would be good value for you, just don't expect more...
