The review at the bottom was my last stay. Unfortunately the hotel standards have deteriorated significantly since. The frontline staff are really very nice. I feel it's the management driving the standards that are responsible for the decline. What used to be a very nice breakfast with freshly made pancakes and omlettes and a nice buffet and service in the Rabbit Hole restaurant is now served upstairs on tables that look set for a wedding with cold pancakes and omlettes. The first day the food was slop and some empty and the service and the butter were rancid They did improve the buffet massively after that. The leaf jars on the table had old water so they had mosquito larvae in. The thick carpet is dirty and full of stains. The toaster is propped up by a bottle cap and most of the slots only toast one side (the third slot is good for anyone wanting toast). The men's toilet has no hand soap. Breakfast buffet and men can't use soap after the toilet. The shower only had barely tepid warm water. But this seems to be hit and miss as the next time it was hotter. May depend on the time of day. This hotel is expensive so at this price the breakfast and shower should be spot on. Room 315: The refrigerator mentioned is a drinks cooler that hardly chills (not good enough for food and milk as not cold enough). The stated coffee maker is a kettle (full of limescale that makes the water cloudy) with two sachets of coffee. The plug doesn't work on the sink. The small amount of toilet roll ran out on the first night: surely a hotel at this price range can supply an extra toilet roll? The sheets don't fit the bed so we were constantly making the bed. The phone kept ringing for no reason on the first night. They resolved this. But as my partner was a lone female at the time this was disturbing. The restaurant closed early for an event one night. No notice or warning for guests. This despite nowhere open due to a typhoon. Maybe staff needed to see to their family and understandable but just give proper notice. The reception didn't even know they had stopped serving.
The airport transfer was spot on and in the middle of the night so that's a positive service provided. The door lock failed and they repaired quickly. My third and last stay here: too much competition nearby to let standards slip so much.
Was a nice hotel, still could be, management needs to up their game. ...........
This is a nice hotel. Great rooms and nice breakfast. (The following is only a problem when booking a room with them on Booking.com): when booking a room it is not possible to book a room with a double bed specifically. The booking is for either a double bed or a twin bed room and can't be determined before arrival. They just do their best to give you the choice of room on arrival. I cancelled and booked with Trip.com where I was then able to choose my specific bed type. But it cost me a little more. So it seems Booking.com do this so they can be a...
Read moreA mixed review. The staff are mainly excellent. But there were a couple of issues with the stay. The room was nice and we received a free upgrade. The shower is very bad: cold water and the spray coming out at all angles. Having stayed previously I know the showers are usually good. The staff resolved the shower issues. But I had been travelling for two days and I really needed a good shower. I had a cold, very poor quality shower spray for the most important wash of my stay. The door staff are great for hailing taxis. The breakfast buffet is very nice however the pancakes and omelette quality depends on the griller: one morning fresh and made to order and cooked perfectly. The next day the pancakes are made in advance and lose the fluffy texture and warmth and the omelette undercooked. I was checking out separately from my partner. We had chosen not to have the room cleaned for out 4 night stay and left the sign on the door for this. However on checkout we had the ridiculous situation where my partner can't leave the hotel because this cheap paper sign is missing from the door. I am having to wake up from my sleep at the airport to help resolve this mess. The matter was resolved after quizzing housekeeping staff. But seriously, this is not the actions a nice hotel should be employing. The hotel could be excellent. The room patio doors of 508 need a good clean. The hotel is very close to being excellent. At the moment, the service doesn't reflect the price paid. The management can tighten up on the service and make the trip far more enjoyable. I would have been stayed again but the door sign shenanigans means I won't be. There is opposition for their trade n the opposite side...
Read moreGreat location, great staff, however this is let down by the state of the rooms. Black mold around the bathtub and shower ( was later confirmed by staff all rooms have black mold) rust I'm the bidet spray, bathtub leaks every time you shower. Food particles on the carpet when we checked into room. We ordered room service and at first the wrong food was delivered then when the correct food arrived it was all cold. The breakfast lasts any real options and ended up not eating much as there really was very little on offer. The hotel lobby is very well air-conditioned, the rooms however are lacking strong aircon. As you enter your room (in our case a suite) the aircon is above the door and feels cold but this is not powerful enough to cool the whole room and as such does not reach the rest of the room. I would not recommend this hotel until these problems are addressed. I hope this hotel improves as there are far better maintained hotels a...
