Mactan Grand Golden Hotel — Hotel in Lapu-Lapu

Probably the worst stay of our lives. Hotel is new and looks pretty but that’s about it for positive view. It is located in the heart of a neighbourhood and the houses must be upset because there’s one house with over 40 roosters who didn’t stop screaming the entire night. The food on the rooftop is subpar. My chicken parm came covered in what tasted like ketchup. They have a restaurant on the 5th and 6th floor, our room was on the 4th and the servers were dragging chairs well past midnight. The servers had no experience and didn’t know what the meals came with. Last but not least the shower water heater is located way too high. I’m 6 ft tall and could barely reach it not to mention being in the shower at night and the lights went out, only in our room and when I went to lobby to complain the front desk said sorry many ppl using electricity? This was our first trip to Cebu. The hotel has great food. The view from the hidden restaurant was nice. You can watch the planes land and take off. The sunsets were amazing. The staff was great talking with and getting to know. We would like to thank the members of the staff that I had the pleasure getting to know. 1st is Princess the HR/ADMIN HEAD OFFICER. 2nd. Merry the FRONT DESK OFFICER. 3rd JUNETH the WAITRESS who always had a contagious smile. 4th Ranie the BARTENDER who made the best shakes. 5th Vicente B.I. The security officer that I seen greet everyone who came to the place to stay or go upstairs to the restaurant. Like he was greeting a friend he has not seen in a long time. And the rest of the staff who worked everyday to make the place great. Thank You...

Location is close to airport.

You only get one key to check in and you need that for all the power in your room. If you remove rhe key, the wifi turns off, which then restarts when you renter the room. WiFi not available anywhere else besides lobby and your room. The fridge also turns off if you remove the key card so don't plan to keep anything cool when you leave your room. You can try to ask for another key card though. We were given one on our last night.

You have to have some kind of local app to get car service. (Not great if you are international with no PH phone#)
