This restaurant gave me food poisoning. After eating here, I vomited for around 24 hours before deciding to go to the emergency room since my condition was not improving.
I returned to the restaurant around one week later to inform them of the incident. I could not go immediately since I was 1) sick and 2) lived very far away. Their response: the owner is not in and the palak paneer that I ordered is a best seller which no one else has complained about. The waitress said she would inform the owner, and she clearly never did.
In the following days, I messaged several times to ask if the owner was in. She never was. I returned to the restaurant again for an update and never got one.
I then messaged the full info to the restaurant’s WhatsApp and asked for a refund of my meal, since asking in person seemed to have no effect. On WhatsApp, they implied that I was lying and eventually ghosted me instead of giving me an update.
The food itself was nasty and nauseating and gave a burning sensation when swallowed, which was not due to spice. Once I sensed that the food was reheated and overloaded with MSG, I should have known better than to eat it. Maybe I am sensitive to badly prepared food made with bad ingredients. I love Indian food and this place was offensive and disappointing. They were irresponsible in the handling of my food poisoning case and were not willing to refund me around $20, acting as if my request was abominable.
Eating here resulted in suffering and an expensive visit to the hospital. Not professional and cannot recommend.
Shameful. Please go elsewhere as there are other Indian restaurants in Cebu which are responsibly run. This is the only time I have ever gotten food poisoning in the Philippines, which is saying a lot.
Since the restaurant has ghosted me, my final option is to leave this review as a...

Read moreWell what a disappointment that was, after reading all those glowing reviews. My wife ordered chicken Tikka masala and two roti breads. The food arrived piping hot, and my wife said the staff were very nice. The masala gravy was very good. I asked for spicy and that was what I got. Spot on. However, two things absolutely ruined the food experience: The chicken (breast is guess), was dry, stringy, and tough. It was like trying to eat your shoes. I guess it was either really old, or cooked for 3 times longer than needed. The roti were awful. Swimming in grease, and grease literally dripping from my fingers. All I could taste was grease. What on earth did they do? Marinate them in grease for a week, before deep frying then in grease, and finally drizzling them in more grease to finish? I threw them away. Well, sorry it's a bad review, but I have to be honest. It's unlikely...
