Hotel California Suite — Hotel in Lapu-Lapu

I stayed for a week at this hotel and found nothing to criticize and many things to love about my experience. Much better than a resort for someone wishing to experience the culture of the Philippines. Each and every member of the staff was friendly and helpful including the 24 hour armed security in lobby. When I arrived the room was neat and clean, and the polished tile floors were spotless. Awesome in-room massage for 300 pesos/hr. The largest mall in the local area was right across the street. A ten minute 15 peso tricycle ride took me straight to my diving location, and whenever I wanted a taxi there was always a line of them waiting outside. The best tasting mangoes and papayas I have ever eaten were sold in street stalls right around the corner. There was a very good Korean cafe/restaurant next door and a JollyBee's across the street. Price wise it's good.. location not bad , though it's noisy because of the tricycle outside, not ideal to relax. .. the worst is when the front desk staff is pregnant and you get that attitude of snob. .. she just hand me the the piece of paper with the password on it without looking or saying anything, i asked for a help on my luggage ,and yet she answered me that she is not allowed to help with my luggage because she is only assigned at the front desk, but she could help only if its not a luggage and she mentioned that the hotel rules is not to help carry the luggage of the customers...i am a traveller, from the expensive to the cheapest hotel i've tried, this one is the worst service i ever had. .. and later i know from her co worker that she is pregnant, now i understand, and i guess she should not be in the customer service...

My husband and I stayed here for a night from September 24-25, 2016. This is a basic accommodation, room smelled old and is a bit pricey considering there is no breakfast and no complimentary airport transfers either. ||The only good thing about this hotel is that it is located just opposite of Metro Gaisano so you can grab anything you need without having to ride a cab. However, it is still a little far from the airport. It will take you 20-30 minutes by taxi and will cost you around Php200 during non-traffic hours. Imagine your taxi fare during busy hours. ||We could have stayed in a nicer place in Lapu-Lapu for...
