Magayon Hotel — Hotel in Legazpi

I find this hotel ideal because of its strategic location. The view of the world-reckoned Mayon Volcano sitting just behind the hotel's windows is very relaxing and mesmerizing. The staffs are friendly but their response time is lagging. I remember one time I asked for a bath towel, I called the reception to deliver the towel in my room, the lady said okay sir. It was late for me then to find out that the lady whom I was calling forgot my request..disgusting! The place is clean however some rooms aren't totally sanitized and fixed. Airconditioning units are noisy, the bed sheets are clean but thin, that sometimes you can feel the bed springs on your back.Its quite uncomfortable.The blankets are thin like a Japanese paper; the pillows are small and looks dull. During nights, corridors look creepy and quiet opting you to imagine a creepy setting of a horror movie.Occasional cockroaches and cute little mice peep at the middle of the night, complacently traversing the tile floors looking for some pieces of your food leftovers. In some occasion I was able to catch at least three cockroaches and I eventually put them into eternal rest. The mice however are fast runners (like Usain Bolt), I wasn't able to pick them up and crush it with my big foot. WiFi is available but it barely reach the room, esp in the third floor area. You have to stay out of your room to get a good signal reception, and if you're lucky enough to get a connection, the internet is as slow as dying centenarian. However, it was a good stay in general. We were looking for a cheap place just to stay in for a few hours before another long travel back to the city, and so we saw this place online. It looked pretty decent in pictures and is very accessible, but the experiencing was disappointing when we got there.||The room smelled funky when we got in. And just when I was so excited to jump in the bathroom for a quick hot shower, I ended up realizing there was not even a drop of water coming out of the faucet. So we had to call the utilities men to fix it and told us that they have to fix the water pump which will take around 2 hours. Since I was already too tired to wait and too dirty to immediately jump in bed, I ask for at least a pail of water instead - which they accommodated.||As I laid down, the mattress was hard that I can feel the bed springs on my back. And I saw that they used old pillows. One of my pillows were two old small pillows stacked together to make it one. But because I was so drained after a 13hour long drive, I still managed to fall asleep.||The next morning, it was time for us to take advantage of the free breakfast, it was in their cafeteria. But when we got there, there were no food left for us. We had to wait for them to cook food for us and get us coffee.||It was a good thing that all the personnel there were friendly, accommodating and helpful - this is the least they could offer.||If I still had enough energy that night to go around the city, I'd choose to find some place else to stay. I totally understand that with price comes the quality, but I think the establishment can consider improving their place. People won't mind paying a bit more for a comfortable place to lay their head on...

We book in this hotel via Expedia. The information on website is not complete. This is a 4 storey hotel and without elevator. We were given room in the 4th floor. Requesting for a lower one as we have our parents already senior citizens but to no avail. The breakfast is what you get for the cheap hotel price. The room is spacious as we get 2 rooms, each with 2 double bed. AC is working fine but a little noisy. The bathroom is just enough size. The hot shower is a plus as I didnt expect the room to have. The reception said they are cleaning the room everyday, likewise I still requested to. The night we comeback to our room, it was not clean. I ask why, the reception said maybe they forgot or no cleaners on that day and I didn’t request. Whhaaaatttt?! The following day the same thing happens. We stay for 3 nights and 4 days not a single one they clean the room. The only thing I like this hotel is the security of the parking area, just enough space for around 8 cars.... hahaha.
