Pro: Staff are very friendly, helpful, and patient. Lobby is nice and stylish. Door alarms when you left it not fully closed which is good. There is option to take stairs. Bathroom have squeeze bottles for shampoo and conditioner instead of individual packs (another win for Earth). Location is great for my travel purpose since the Regional Center is just few minutes away. Cons: Booked Deluxe Queen online but got deluxr twins (not deal breaker). Room is too basic for its pricr point. Our booking is at roughly Php 3,600 per night inclusive of breakfast (around Php 11,000 for 3 rooms). The fixed coffee table have no light at all which makes it dark. There are no sockets on top of coffee table but have socket underneath. You have to put the kettle on the floor to boil water or plug it ij the comfort room. The kettle have webs on the spout so I did not proceed in making a coffee. There are no room slippers. There are no cabinets. Wifi is not stable so I was not able to work efficiently. Dinner was served around 40mins to 1hr after we ordered even though the dining restaurant is not even on half capacity. Food is pricy for the portions which basically makes it overpriced. I ordered fried tilapia which costs Php 280 which is medium size according the server (1 to 2 person). I got a small tilapia which is at most for 1 person only. Cocido soup worth Php 280 is basically just a large bowl of cocido with 1 cut of fish (basically paid fot water). One small glass of calamansi juice is Php 100. I was not able to take photo of foods since we waited for 40mins to 1hr so I was starving already 😆 Big cons: There is corkage fee of Php 500 for outside food so that you order in the restaurant instead. Do not order Grabfood or Panda.

They had a promo for 1,999 per night of stay from 3000 for local residents last November. The booking and check in are smooth. They have elevator, the bed was okay, the entire room is comfortable. The booking also included breakfast for two. However, the room service is terrible. We had to call 4x and be angry before they addressed our need for towels (which has to be there in the room before checking in). They ran out of towels, they said, and they gave us bathrobes instead, which was fine if they offered that the first time we called. Also, their hot/cold shower is not working. But I love their soap, smells lemongrass, which is soothing. I also requested for a queen bed but they provided 2 joined single beds. The breakfast is also not flexible. You can't order for people with dietary restrictions. The pool looks not well maintained, although understandable in this time. With the kind of reputation the hotel chain has, I expected a better experience. We'll definitely not book again.

there was a used pair of shorts on our window sill (5th floor). shower drain was a bit clogged and so water was slow to drain. breakfast buffet was disappointing with mostly just bread, rice + 2 viands available (longganisa and tinapa). the fried eggs were very limited and we were told as early as 8:30am that they will not be refilling the eggs. we were offered a platter of fries instead for the inconvenience. theres a kiddie pool and a normal pool. unfortunately, you can smell the stench from the nearby canal from the pool area. there were also trash and used tissue on the tables in the pool area. most of the chairs were already broken and had metals poking through the seats good location though. convenient when hailing a tricycle.

We reserved for an overnight stay and here are some points good/average/not so good (I won't say bad because their hotel is new and tourism, hotels are just getting back on their feet from pandemic)||The rates: 3,500 for a room|What's in the room:|2 queen size bed 👍👍👍|Area is ample for the room 👍👍👍||The Furniture|- one hanging desk for your personal stuff and can be used as desk for working using laptops|But I think it's not yet fully completed because the outlet is not easily accessible|(please provide grommet at the desk for outlet socket access)|Kettle is plugged either on the side table or inside the bathroom lavatory counter.|-No small fridge (which a 3,500 room rate should have) |- Wardrobe open cabinet is nice|- space for shoes is okay too! |-one bedside table with drawer|-rack for luggage|-TV and heater| (but ours was currently not working so 😩 nah for me) ||bathroom: a bit tight, shower should be located where the lavatory counter is, and lavatory counter should be at the location of the shower... ||With Bidet, trash in, tissue, big mirror, spacious lavatory counter, the glass partition should be check, purposed of preventing the water splashing all over the bathroom is not achieved.||Please add robe hooks 😊 ||Complimentaries:| toothbrush, toothpaste, |soap and refillable pump shampoos and conditioner 👍👍👍👍👍 sachets of tea, coffee, sugar, creamer and 2 bottled water ||Cleanliness: 1 to 10. I give 8 ❤️.|Amenities|Pool, Cafe, open bar (the bar code)|Wide parking spaces|Spa and massage rooms||Service|Guards are polite and gives good assistance especially to pwd's|My mom is well assisted.||Crew:|They are limited but so far needs extra effort when in greeting guests.|The tone of greetings and smiling eyes are good impressions for guests.||Service - we asked for the luggage cart and it took 20 mins to arrive when we are about to check out.||We asked for extra pillow around 5:30pm and it was not provided, we left the room for dinner arrived 10pm|And asked again for the pillow.|15mins then it was delivered.||Food : complimentary breakfast|Is good. With coffee too ❤️||We haven't ordered other in their menu|So I can't rate much for the food.|| Ambience - nice and clean, |Bravo! for the stairs, you will never get tiring going up nor down. ||Elevator is okay to!!! ||Overall - it's an average stay but with potential to be awesome.|And probably next visit would be much better.||Looking forward to PROXY BY the...

Proxy by The Oriental is a very hip hotel, which I like and the only 3-star pet-friendly hotel in the whole of Legazpi City so in that aspect, it's a 5-star for me.

However, I've had the worst experience with their front desk service today.

Mind you, this is my third stay in this hotel - I stayed for two nights in January, and again last month, May and today and every time, I book through Agoda (because Agoda VIP Platinum has the best discounts and perks!!!).

When I came in today, I came from an almost 14-hour drive from Manila (and it was 15 to 2) so imagine how tired I am. My initial booking didn't go through and I didn't noticed it.

Deniel from the front desk was kind enough to assist me. So, I tried booking in Agoda again after about 10 minutes, it came through.

So then, I told them that I've had booking confirmation which is also already paid. So they asked me to be seated and they will approach me. 15 minutes passed, and I saw Deniel running around and helping other guests (there's a wedding in the venue so extra busy).

So instead, I came to the front desk to ask help from Micca (FO Associate), and she told me she would approach me after 10-15 mins!!!!!!!! So I sat down, but then IT WAS TOO MUCH FOR ME GIVEN THAT THIS IS NOT MY FIRST TIME. THEY SHOULD RECOGNIZE THAT AND AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE BEEN GOING BACK TO THEIR HOTEL (had they receive proper training, they probably would have minded that).

I CAME BACK TO THE FRONT DESK AND SAW HER ASSIST A BUNCH OF PEOPLE BEFORE ME WITHOUT ASKING THEM TO WAIT FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES LIKE SHE ASKED ME.

So I felt offended and I had to ask her THE PARTICULAR REASON WHY SHE ASKED ME TO WAIT WHEN MY BOOKING HAS ALREADY BEEN CONFIRMED FOR ALMOST 30 MINUTES ALREADY.

She is very unprofessional and to be honest, a snob. The worst thing is she didn't even apologize - I would understand her not giving me a reason out of respect and had she apologized BUT NOPE, very unprofessional.

Deniel helped me out, which he should have done many minutes ago already, but he helped me out then printed my confirmation, asked for my ID and then handed my hotel key.

The other lady in the FO desk is just standing behind them and idle. Front desk officers are the face of your hotel - train them properly.

Aside from that, I love Proxy by The Oriental on its own merit of being hip and...
