This is my third time staying in this place since it's clean and decent, specially for business trip. It is also walking distance to malls and have 24/7 convenience store within the building for your needs. However, below are some points of improvement:
One of my pet peeve is having a bad window view, like opening the window and all you'll see is the next room. So I asked if I could change room; they allowed me to, but the receptionist told me I can have the room only by 2pm since the room I'm going to transfer is not yet clean, and they need time to have it ready, (it was around 10:30 am at that time). So I moved out of the 1st room they gave me and patiently waited at the lobby. 2pm sharp I asked the receptionist if I could already have the room as discussed, and thankfully they were able to provide the room with park view (one of my faves). However, I asked the housekeeper upon entering the room, if the room was just cleaned up. Surprisingly, he mentioned that the room was vacant since yesterday! I was so frustrated as to why I needed to wait for almost 4 hrs! while in fact the room was ready for occupancy the time I requested it in the morning. I spoke with the receptionist to get her side, and she mentioned that it was just available in their system by 2pm. I asked why, and she mentioned that their supervisor is the one responsible releasing the room for availability in the system. Maybe there's a need to improve regarding this matter. I'm not sure why it takes more than a day for them to make the vacant room available.
For those 3 experiences I've stayed in Hop Inn, all of the ACs are located just above the working desk. It's really annoying since water drops from AC to my food that I'm eating at the desk, or even my laptop. I really hope there's like a gutter or something to avoid the water to drop on the work desk.
Wifi is very poor inside the room.
I'll be staying here again on my next business trip next week. Hopefully this review/feedback gets to the proper team for...
Read moreWe stayed here overnight just a few days ago. It was a last minute decision as I had to pick up my mom and her friend for a party that night. We arrived late in the afternoon and were given prompt check-in. We placed our bags down in the room as we were going to have a meal in a nearby restaurant. I have a knack of checking the door knob before leaving and lo and behold, it wouldn't lock.
I called the reception to ask for help. Someone from housekeeping came, and he couldn't fix it so he said he'd call at the front desk. He said they might send someone to fix it or maybe a room transfer. Luckily, my mom was just in the next room and her door's lock was working so I moved our stuff there. I didn't mind them fixing it because we were going out anyway.
It was almost 6pm when we came back. I haven't slept yet and have 10pm work. I checked with the front desk first if my room's door is fixed. Because if it wasn't perhaps we can find a resolution. He talked to someone on the radio and he told me it's fixed. I went up, found my door open, and the same housekeeping staff and someone from maintenance (I assume) were on the work desk with the door knob still in pieces. I was lied to.
I stood outside the room. I told them to just move us to a different room with a working lock, but they kept saying it'll be done soon. We were gone for over an hour, told that it was fixed upon coming back, and yet I found them still working on it, and walking around inside a room with a very moist floor with their shoes on.
Bad service. I hate being lied to. Sure, the rate is cheap, but that shouldn't be an excuse for bad...
Read moreKeycards are not working. Complained about it and lobby attendant just kept saying 'Unfortunately'.
I got stuck in the 9th Floor thinking that my card will work. When I got to my hotel room, same scenario happened to my kids. They also got stuck with a non-working key card.
I can let my situation pass, but knowing that my kids got also stuck is a different scenario. They got blamed that their keycard didnt work as it couldve been in contact with their cellphones.
When I complained in the lobby, I was told that keycards dont work if it was taken out too long. But we we're not told about this when I checked in, or a disclaimer shouldve been posted in the lobby or at the elevator. We were actually able to go out for around 4hrs yesterday, and the keycard worked when we got back.
When we checked in, both cards didn't worked either. I am a frequent traveller, and this is the first time that I encountered this. Don't tell your guests that this is how HopInn works, because it is a lame excuse.
I know this is a budget hotel, but it doesn't need to equate to poor service.
A simple apology would've worked, but instead Patryck kept on saying unfortunately, and without any lament, and is in a rush to dismiss me.
Never again will I book, and will definitely will tell other peope about my worse...
