What a horrible experience! I am a regular traveler to the Philippines from Japan for leisure and business activities, I mostly visit Manila and Subic Bay Freeport zone during my stay. My regular stay in Subic Bay is at GRAND HOYAH HOTEL. I visited Philippines on JUNE 2022 and checked in at GRAND HOYAH HOTEL and after 3days, I was asked to move to another room. The moment I was moved to the new room I immediately complained that my safety deposit box was not functional, (I keep my wallet with all my Japanese related IDs, YEN and USDs which I don’t use frequently in Philippines). It took them more than 3 days to inform me that the safety deposit box had a malfunction that some number weren’t working so I was advised that only certain numbers can be used to set a lock code. For almost 3 days all my valuables were kept outside in my bag and the staff already knew about it. After few days I noticed my money were missing. My wallet had both JPY and USD.I always kept my valuable belongings inside the safety box at all times, except for the days that the safety box that didn’t work. The first time I met with the supervisor she was asking for the details of what has happened so she could also do her investigation. So I gave her all the details but she was constantly asking me if I never used my wallet (which was a fare question) but then I explained her clearly the purpose and the importance of the wallet. It took 2 days for the supervisor to investigate the incident and she said that after my complain about the safety box was on the same day 2 people (one maintenances and a lobby boy) have entered my room without my permission and between hours where I was not present inside my room although the HOTEL staff knew my personal belongings were kept outside. I wasn’t informed that someone has entered my room without my knowledge till this incident occurs and my complain. Then we asked to view the CCTV footage she replied that the recordings only last 15 days (This is not how the safety of the customers should be handled). GRAND HOYAH HOTEL didn’t take any responsibility to this incident. They only advised me to make a complaint at the LAW ENFORCEMETN DEPARTMENT (which wasn’t a good choice for me since my visit was coming to an end). Firstly, GRAND HOYAH HOTEL should never have let any of its customer’s book rooms or shift rooms where safety deposit boxes are not functional. Secondly, No person’s hotel or outsides should be allowed without the permission of the room tenet. Finally, GRAND HOYAH HOTEL has to take a lot more effort for the safety for its customer’s a 15 days CCTV recording won’t be sufficient at all. I was a regular at GRAND HOYAH HOTEL but after this AWFUL experience! I WOULD NEVER BOOK ITS ROOMS IN MY FUTURE STAY OR WOULD I EVER RECOMEMD IT TO ANY...

Read moreWe arrived early at around 12nn and waited for our room. The frontdesk staff said they will let us know if the room is ready and even said they "prioritized" cleaning our room.
I checked with the front desk at around 1:45pm, room's not available yet. Then, past 2pm and still no one approached us. I had to go to the frontdesk again, they asked what room number I'm assigned to and I said they haven't even given us a key yet so I don't know! Turns out, the room is already ready. I don't know how long it has been ready but we would have appreciated if the frontdesk was mindful that we've been waiting in the lobby for hours.
We stayed in the Family Suite. Room is spacious with complete toiletries and towels. Mini ref is stocked with some food items.
The room has 2 large beds however they were quite stiff and uncomfortable to sleep on. There were questionable stains on the mattress as well. The AC was noisy and the walls are thin so you could hear everyone outside.
Overall, the hotel has great location (near Ayala Malls Harbor Point and gate to Olongapo) and has big parking space however, it is quite old and...
