Mango Valley Hotel — Hotel in Olongapo

We stayed 4D3N - checked in thursday and out sunday morning. we got room 209. I have a meniscal tear and prefer minimal stairs. |PROS - |1. Staff in housekeeping and restaurant are attentive and solicitous. |2. Room is dated but well kept and clean. everything works - tv, aircon, tv, water heater. The beddings and pillows were firm and sheets are high thread count. |3. Breakfast selection is very good - at the minimum, thare are 4 to 5 meat options, unlimited eggs, a variety of veggies and sides. Much better than continental options in other places. |4. Attentive to requests - for water, toilet paper replenishment, etc. ||CONS - Nothing on the hotel .... but what I experienced which left a sour taste on my tongue.We stayed in the same place in 2023 after the pandemic and thought its a good place to go for a repeat. |1. I communicated via messenger blocking 2,500 room rate with bfast for 2 from Thursday to Sunday. So I prepared 7,500 for hotel cost. |2. We arrived Thu and was recommended - get the 3,200 per night on 2 nights for 3 promo. So total 6,400 hotel cost. I gave my credit card but the front desk said - just pay on check out. |3. On check out Sunday was told ---- sorry the rate is wrong it would be 3,800 per night as the guy proceeds to write over the document (#2) I signed Thursday. ||I responded no, wait a minute - I had a 2,500 rate per night online, then the 2 for 3 at 3,200. Now you are telling me 3.800?? The guy said sorry there is no 3,200 rate only 3,800 but we can retain the 2 for 3 promo. ||I replied so essentially it's, 2,500 then 2,133, then 2,533; regardless of your promos? The guy became visibly flustered - I said I will pay we are quibbling on less than 500 pesos = what I dont like is all this roudabout on rates. What is the point having to...

This is for Mango Valley 1. The place is surprisingly nice, clean, and well kept. I have a two twin bedroom and spaciously comfortable. It does not have kitchenette but has automatic kettle with 2 cups and free coffee. The furniture was carefully choosen and good quality material. The space under the bed can fit small luggage or hand carry on for extra storage if needed. The day sofa is PERFECT for small petite person or a child for additional sleeping space. The bathroom is spacious too and has good water flow both for toilet flush and shower head and sink. The the ceiling is a good height. Not too tall or too short just enough. The fire escape route is posted in the door for your safety. It has sprinkler system as well and smoke detector (just like in USA). Has canned recessed lighting. Has phone in the room to call front desk. This place is fully functional for a hotel. The only irked I have has not have a deadbolt in the door - just a simple door knob but it doesn't mean my safety is compromise. I feel safe in the compound and it's quiet here. Love the tile floor which looks like a wood floor. Comes in with WiFi and free breakfast. The bed is comfy and the pillow does not stink. LOVE the comforter - Soo comfy. It's a good place to stay...

I like this place. The people specially the housekeeping ang restaurant staff. But the rates are misleading.

First, the hook - a rate of 2500 per night as promo. Which will be your reason to check in. 7500 + environment fee of 112 per day. So you will prepare 7836.

Second, you check in on day 1 and the guy said - We have a 2 for 3 promo of 3200 which at 6400 cheaper than your online rate plus environment fee of 112 per day. So I said let me pay na 6736. Guy said no pay at check out na lang.

Then on day 3 check out. The desk guy changes the 3200 which I signed to 3800 per night plus the 112 per night which means a 8136 room charges to keep the 2 +1 promo. He claimed its 3800 not 3200.

Seriously?? ... so much work around to hook customers at 2500 when the rate is really 2533.333/night. Ano ba yan?

Looking back, wala naman issue sa 2500 per room night rate. Why mislead pa with a 2+1 promo?

The only reason I can assume is other bigger properties have 3k rates. So maybe its a way to get to top of search engines when one uses...
