Malipaj Apartment Resort — Hotel in Panglao

We stayed here for 8 nights in total. We booked the 2br apartment with kitchen. We were pleasantly surprised with this one.

The building is fully concrete, so you won't hear other guests at all especially when you're inside your room. The rooms are spacious and modern including the bathroom. There's a living room with a sofa bed. There's also a fully functioning kitchen which is outside the rooms, located in the terrace. The terrace/balcony is also where your dining area is. This spot is very relaxing and where we spent most of our time, enjoying the fresh air.

The pool is nice and clean, and nice to swim in. It doesn't smell or feel too chlorinated or dirty. It's really nice to swim in.

The service is superb. The host and the receptionist are really just one text/message away and they will immediately respond to your concerns.

However, while most reviews are satisfied with the wifi, it so happens that the wifi in our unit fluctuated a lot so they let me connect to the neighboring unit instead so I can work remotely. But this was only possible if I worked on the terrace. The mobile data signal is good anyway, so if you're planning to work remotely, I recommend bringing a portable wifi with you.

Location is also pretty good. It's just about 5 minutes car ride to the airport, too. While one road leading inside the resort was a little bumpy, there's another access road that's fully cemented. Toktok drivers will know this.

Overall, we had a really great stay at Malipaj and we will definitely book here again when we return to Bohol. It's really a great deal and you get more than what you paid for. Food and transpo are extremely expensive in Panglao, so having a kitchen where you can cook is a great way to save.

There are also sweet stray doggos who will stay with you at night in the terrace or outside. I just wish they weren't so strict towards them and feed them...

Stayed here for over a month. Miriam, Jean, Mortiz and all the rest of the staff are all so very kind and helpful! Was able to turn in laundry, book excursion, order tricab,taxi, even helped order food… There is nothing they couldn’t help with and done with a kind smile. They maintain the property very well. Pool is clean and stays warm. The bed is very big, super comfy and I love the nice clean white sheets!!! One of the better places to stay at in Panglao for a reasonable price!

As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe staying here.

Side note, the property is off the main road which can be bumpy and off putting at first, but after a few days I really appreciate the quietness...
