I recently had the pleasure of dining at Red House Shabu-shabu, a cozy shabu shabu spot nestled in the heart of Panglao. From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of delightful.
The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with a modern yet comforting decor that immediately put me at ease. The staff were friendly and attentive, providing helpful guidance on the menu and the shabu shabu cooking process for those who were new to it.
Now, onto the main event: the food. The selection of fresh ingredients for the shabu shabu was impressive, with a variety of thinly sliced meats, crisp vegetables, and flavorful broths to choose from. Everything was of the highest quality, and I appreciated the option to customize my meal according to my preferences.
Once the ingredients were brought to our table, the interactive cooking experience began. The bubbling broth, combined with the aroma of the ingredients, created an irresistible aroma that whetted our appetites. Cooking our own food at the table was not only fun but also allowed us to control the cooking time to achieve the perfect level of tenderness.
Each bite was a burst of flavor, and I found myself eagerly trying different combinations of meats, vegetables, and dipping sauces. The richness of the broth paired perfectly with the freshness of the ingredients, resulting in a truly satisfying meal.
In addition to the shabu shabu, the restaurant also offered a variety of other dishes and beverages to complement the experience. From appetizers to desserts, everything we tried was expertly prepared and delicious.
Overall, my dining experience exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of excellent food, attentive service, and inviting ambiance made for a memorable evening that I can't wait to repeat. If you're a fan of shabu shabu or just looking for a unique dining experience, I highly recommend paying...

I recently enjoyed the Hot Pot Set for 3–4 here, plus an extra helping of abalone, and I’d love to share some of the highlights (and a few humble suggestions).
From the moment we stepped in, the place felt welcoming—spacious and homey, just right for a casual gathering or a relaxed meal with friends and family. That comforting atmosphere was a definite plus.
We got the two-broth set, and I have to say—both broths were excellent, rich in flavor and perfect for bringing everything together. The set came with beef and pork slices, six jumbo shrimp, and two scallops, along with more than its fair share of cabbage and other vegetables. The flavors were solid and the seafood tasted fresh, but, to be honest, I wished there’d been more meat and seafood in the mix. It leaned a bit too veggie-heavy for the price and portion size.
On the service side, it was a mixed bag. Our server was friendly, but I found myself following up a couple of times just to get ice and glasses, which pulled away from the otherwise relaxed vibe. A little more attentiveness would go a long way.
In summary: A cozy, welcoming spot with tasty broths and fresh seafood—but could benefit from larger portions of the good stuff and smoother service touches. Still, I see great potential here and would return—especially if the set gets a bit more generous...
Read moreWent to their resto for the first time. Was excited because it will be my first time also to try shabu-shabu. The interiors were fully illuminated. It was minimally set up and the dining area was very tidy. Now going back to the food. I was not disappointed. The pot was divided into 2. You will have the option of having 2 flavors. One for hot & spicy and one for original. I may be a little bit bias but I like the hot & spicy (my fave) but both of them are very tasty and likeable. They also have condiments and additional spices for you to choose from and you get to mix them all as your sauces. I'll definitely get back for more and explore the...
