We recently (January 2020) stayed at the Panglao Grande Resort in Bohol. We give this resort 7/10. The first reason for this is because the resort is not 100% “ready” meaning the road to the resort is not complete. There is a caveat to this though and that is a legal battle between the resort and the neighbors who purchased land and the road to the resort with it. This is NOT the fault of the resort and they have an alternate dirt road that they use to transport to and from, but it just makes it less “comfortable.” The second reason is for the restaurant which leaves some things to be desired. They don’t accept credit cards, they were constantly out of food (I’m talking early in the morning for breakfast when they should be ready to go for the day). The third reason is credit cards at the hotel, meaning they don’t accept them. We understand that things happen and internet goes down from time to time, but to promote yourself as a resort and not accept credit cards in 2020 is just not up to snuff. ||||On the other hand...||||The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating (we will give them a 9/10) with all aspects of the resort. They put us in an upgraded room when the AC in our unit went out, they were quick to help with travel off the resort and also to plan tours and excursions. Always with a smile ready to assist with our luggage. The staff really made our stay pleasant. ||||Let’s talk rooms...||||We had an opportunity to stay in 3 rooms during our visit. The first is room 18 which we DO NOT recommend. It feels like a staff quarters and is just not dressed properly for guests. The second was a pool side room #25 and this one was dressed properly, but had no view. The third was #3 and this one was GREAT! Facing the ocean, Private little entrance, tile floor, just good to go (oh, except the shower water pressure... they need to correct that). ||||Location, location, location...||||This resort is off the beaten path, meaning it’s not in the party area (Alona Beach). It was quiet at night, chill and very relaxing. The beach was usually with handfuls of people at most and not crowded at all like Boracay or Alona. The area was kept clean and the staff did a wonderful job to make sure the grounds of the property and leading up to it from the beach were nice. We have been to the party spots before and it’s all good if you are in that kind of mode, but if you want to chill and spend time with your partner this place has you covered. ||||Overall we were very happy with our stay. This is NOT a Hilton, so don’t expect that, it’s a province, keep that in mind. ||||Final thoughts... ||||Nice place. Budget friendly. It hits the marks for...
Read moreWilderness. It's literally a jungle. Getting to the resort involves risk, unles you are willing to pay for the entrance fee of the neighboring resort. Health hazzard. This resort should be inspected for public/guest safety. I don't know why and how this resort got their business permit. Too many huge mosquitoes. Staff said it's because it's the rainy season. I strongly disagree. It's cleanliness reason. I have been visiting panglao for the past 3 years, 2-3 times a year. This is the first time I experienced such health hazzard. No drinking water in the room. You have to get from the water dispenser from the reception area which closes in the evening. You have no choice but to wait for until the morning. Electricity goes off in the middle of the night. Staffs are rude. It seems like they didn't want to be bothered by guests. The whole surroundings was a file of dirt. The beach area is full of sea grass. I undertand that part. But as a business owner, it is your responsibility to clean your beach front because you are making a living out of it. Neighboring resorts cleans their beach fronts, why can't you? My next visit to Bohol, I will go straight to the municipal health dept to show these...

No one informed us in advance that we have to pay 100 pesos per person for a 50m passage through the resort and then drag our luggage in sand and sea during high tide.||The room was one of the worst during my entire time of traveling to more than 50 countries of the world.| (I srayed in 2 USD places). DIRTY, SMELY and MOULDY. The shower was broken, the toilet was broken so the water was spilling everywhere and the bathroom was constantly full of water and smelled of urine. The air conditioning worked, but it was not cleaned and rusted, and while on you could feel the mold sticking to your lungs. Holes everywhere (ceiling, windows, entrance door) so insects easily got in).||Customer service horrible. Drinking water only available at reception. We repeatedly walk there but everytime was close, so no water to drink.|Next door karaoke till 2am and loud drum music from 7am.||Absolutelly...
