Not very good first impression and overall disappointing experience. CONS: - no side tables for our bedside in our room - No counter top for our washroom to put our toiletries - No telephone to contact reception … you need to go to the reception if you need any assistance which was very inconvenient. - One of our bed was missing a proper comforter (had booked two beds in our room) - Fridge in our room had visible rust outside - resort claims they use solar for their hot water but does not work even on sunny day. We had to get a kettle to heat our water for bucket shower. - Wifi was finicky and hardly worked during our stay. - The kettle given to us also had rust so we can’t even use it to make tea - Sink water had a funny taste - Shower water had algae coming out (when addressed to reception, they said it could be a filter problem and also you need to just let the water run for a minute … we did as advised but algae still kept coming even the next day. - There was a strong foul smell coming from our washroom and when addressed to reception, they shifted us to a diff floor with the side tables, proper bedding, but the rest of the issue mentioned above still remain. - it takes way too long for food to come when ordering at the restaurant. If you dont finish your food and want it packed, they may charge for their container. - We ordered Sinigang & Halang Halang for one of our dinners but disappointed there were hardly meat in the serving. The sinigang was served with floating pig fat and Halang Halang was served with chicken bones. PRO’s: - location is about 15 minutes away from Tagbilaran Airport - beach front hotel, 1/2 minute away from the police station, 5 minutes walking distance to a handful of local restaurants outside the resort. - friendly resort staff We had such bad experience that we can never recommend this place. We feel that resort issue is due to poor management not keeping up with maintenance of the rooms/resort itself.

The cottages were newly built which were different from the open nipa huts that we got used to. The materials used were more modern from the insulated roofing to the comfortable seats. Perhaps because of these improvements and perhaps due to the recent effects of the pandemic, the cottage rental was augmented to a pricier amount (Php 1,500). However, this amount is already inclusive of entrance fee and parking fee when you have a rented cottage. There is also no corkage fee so guests are free to bring any food and beverages. Restrooms and shower rooms are also free of charge. The beach and marine life are well-preserved. One can see some sea stars and some school of tiny fishes swimming. However, there were some trash on the shallow part of the beach (i.e., bottles, plastics, face masks). Even though the workforce is on a skeletal work scheme, hopefully there would be someone assigned to ensure the cleanliness of the beach not just for the benefit of the guests but most especially the thriving marine life. Overall, I was able to still enjoy my time with my family and friends. It was basically a safe place to go especially in this pandemic since there were only a small number of guests - only 2 to 3 beach cottages were occupied during the time we got there.

Strengths: 1. Dumaluan2 has a swimming pool while Dumaluan1 don't. 2. Both resort are walking distance to the white, clean and sandy beach. It was so cozy & chilling at the white sandy beach, you can sun tan there for the whole afternoon, walking and explore the nature around, watch the star during the night. Don’t build anything in front beach anymore and keep it widened ! 2. Enjoy the breakfast and lunch here if you don't feel to go out. The restaurant serve Western & Philippines cuisine, beer, juices & shakes. Staff at the restaurant was attentive & friendly. 3. Your can rent a scooter bike next door or outside the resort to travel along the island or the market. 4. The resort also offer the local van, local tour or scuba tour if you wish to join with the tour or sharing with other guest. 5. Tricycles can contact with the front office, if you which to eat out of the resort Improvement 1. Both resort was a bit old need some new paint 2. Toiletries was not enough. Tissues should last for half days for 2 person. 2. Water supply taste a bit salty & inconsistent 3. Drinking water should be part of the package. 4. Lights in the room are quite dark. 5. Many sand on the floor, cleaning should be everyday. 6. Resort a bit pricy need to regulate.

It's good we only stayed 1 nite here, we booked 2 rooms. The hotel location itself is not Bad, it's in front of Dumaluan Beach with good seaview. The problem--the meals and halo halo served in the Restaurant. The prices are excessively high... not matching the quality, quantity, taste and presentation of the food. We ordered KareKare P490 very small portion served just with full of fats which I rerurned when I saw it, not tasty. Then, 6 pcs chicken frita amounting to P390 ( consisting only of 1 neck, 1 small back part of chicken with very little meat, 2 chicken anal small portion, 1 small drumstick, 1 very small portion of breast) that's the 6 pcs in total. The neck has no meat as well as the back of chicken, mostly covered in thick flour and spices, we dont eat chicken anal portion. The price of P390 is not worth for what has been served. My husband ordered sizzling pork, which was not sizzling, it's just a very thin slice like the bacon with full of fats on the side, imagine the meat portion of the pork was very small and full of fats. The fat of the pork is more than the meat, taste salty as well. Presentation wise, no vegetables included nor paired with rice or fries. for 1 small thin slice of pork, we paid P300. Garlic rice costs P65 pesos each( taste was ok). HaloHalo was horrible, cost P275 each placed in a half Buko shell with full of sugar, horrible ice cream taste, very poor quality of ingredients...we regretted we ordered this halo halo which I cannot finished.. as the sugar taste was overwhelming. Mango shake at P145 each ( usual mango shake taste, we requested not to put sugar) to feel the natural mango taste and not the sugar. San Miguel Pale pilsen 1 bottle priced at P100. French Fries P150 very small portion serving, taste was OK. We were not happy with the Food Meal portion serving, the quality and the quantity were not matching the price as advertised on their menu. We talked to the chef why it's like that? It's not his fault..as he is cooking what is only being supplied. We complained to the lady manager of the hotel. But she was horrible to the waitress who served us. She said whatever we request for refund will be deducted on the waitress salary whom she brought when she was talking to us. I apologised to the waitress as it not her fault. That is not nice coming from the manager saying that in front of us. For the reason to make us feel guilty because we are being honest with our complaints? This is management issue. That's why I said, Bad Owner, Bad Manager, Bad Management. The reviews were true from previous stays, the price of meals are excessively high, but the portions of the food being served doesn't do any justice. Its ok to pay high price when the food being served is high quality, good quantity, presentable and tasty. The price is like a 5 star hotel price serving 1 star hotel food. Even ...the Sidewalk Streetfood is much more better than the food being served in Dumaluan Beach Resort. The owner must be stingy and fooling people charging high prices to the food meals but very horrible food being served. Cheating on Customers! The customer are not stupid to accept the unacceptable food meals served in your restaurant, thats why I am giving an honest feedback and constructive criticism to improve the food being served and not to charge excessive price for the food that doesn't match the quality and quantity. The breakfast was just basic 2 small local sausage, 1 fried egg, 1 cup of rice and 1 small portion of veggies with mayo and a coffee drink-not bad, its OK, acceptable. Me, my husband & youngest son just requested 2 boiled eggs and a toast as a replacement breakfast meal for the usual breakfast meal they are serving and had coffee. The rooms facing garden assigned to us were not bad, its OK. Spacious...good air conditioning, but the water is salty ( shower, brushing your teeth from the sink). They clean the front beach in the morning as its with scattered plastic and some rubbish...anyway, wherever you walk along the beach in Bohol, you will see plastic bottles, plastic rubbish wrapper, bottles, trash, etc.. the people who throw rubbish on the seaside area doesnt really care about the trash they are putting on the sea and seaside area, the local government has to be strict in implementing fines and maintaining cleanliness of the surroundings. The local people who are sitting in front of the beach doesnt care as well with their trash scattered around. They have to take care this tourist spot and make it clean.||We found WHITE BEACH is the best for Snorkeling.... not Alona Beach and not Dumaluan Beach. The white beach has soft white sand, fishes, starfish, small octopus, sea urchins...when you swim further...then you will feel the pure white soft sands. Alona Beach-we found it over rated... not that great. Dumaluan Beach is much better for the sea view, but for snorkelling..its White Beach.||I hope the hotel will improve, I experienced what the previous customer had experienced, means the hotel did not change the way it's been managed. And please be kind to your staff, don't deduct their salary due to customer complaints, it's not their fault. The owner needs to read the reviews of the customer, please do improve and dont cheat your customer for overcharging food meals then supplying small quantities of food serving with low quality ingredients. I took photos of the food that has been served and showed it to the manager and did not do any justice. I complained on check out time in the reception and compensated us for P390 pesos discount only. Their parking is limited space. I will never come back in this hotel due to the reason as well that the hen chickens they are taking care of ...for their egg supplies in the cage are severely overcrowded, a lot of chickens compressed in a very tiny cage. The animal rights are...

Our stay was okay but it could’ve been improved a lot by some minor adjus**ents. We were disappointed to find there was no kettle or tea/coffee supplies in the room which we believe should come as standard, especially in a resort. Also, bottled water is only provided on check in and not daily which we were disappointed with also. There were no Sun loungers around the pool like the photos depicted on Trip app. Very limited loungers on the beach front so they were never available. Breakfast was disappointing as there was no bread or fruit, and when bread was requested for myself who does not eat meat and dislikes eggs, there was no butter. I’ve never heard of a restaurant not having butter! There were very limited options, and you were rationed to only have 1 sausage and 1 egg as it was an assisted buffet. There was rice also but nothing to go with it. Also no tea bags available, only coffee. No laundry or scooter rental service which would’ve made our stay a lot more convenient, and no assistance to help find these services when asked if they provided them. Limited plug sockets in the room made it difficult to use our devices and charge them concurrently. There was no shower gel, only a small bar of soap but shower gel is preferable. Water dispensers to fill our own bottles would’ve been nice considering no bottled water provided on days other than check in day. All in all a disappointing stay. Aside from the nice beach, the location was also quite inconvenient as we hadn’t realise there were no other options of shops and restaurants available other than the...
