I was again able to travel with my girlfriend to bohol where we spent her 3 day birthday celebration. Ive only been to bohol once and i was kind of thinking what it will be like when we get there. Its kind of tough going to place where you have no knowledge or ideas on how to get there, but my girlfriend can find ways more than i could imagine. ||I was surprised when she informed me that she had successfully reserved a room at bolod beach resort. It was scheduled on 25, March 2015. The first challenge we have to go through is on how to get there coming from Ninoy aquino international airport to tagbilaran airport in bohol and to the resort itself. I can say the flight was about an hour. We arrived in tagbilaran airport and we were able to get a service from the resort arranged by the owner. This is optional because there are a lot of available transportation waiting outside the airport. We just decided to ask for the resort assistance just to be sure that we get there as safely and convenient as possible. Youll be charged 500 pesos for a one way trip thats about 11 to 12 dollars. Youll be riding either a car or a van depending on how many you will be, this is highly recomemnded if you have a lot of baggage. The cheaper transpo only gets you a tricycle that can only carry the passenger, it will be a challenge for you to fit in all your stuff if you happen to bring a lot . ||Arriving in the resort after a 30 to 45 minute ride. You'll be able to see the beach just behind the resort reception. There are a lot of cottages you can use if you fancy eating or just chilling outside and see the beach. The rooms are okay, you will not be staying in a building, instead, a single nipa hut inspired house, fit for a couple, some big enough to fit groups of people. knowing this is a budget resort you'll be expecting low down quality of rooms and amenities but this one is above that. I can say we were able to be comfortable the entire stay, with air conditioning, hot shower, a televison, a two single bed ( but we decided to only use one. The other one we put all our stuffs. ). Out side theres a small table and chair, a walk way and a small fence that made a good looking accomodation. Its a cool gimmick, it makes the place pleasant to look at. ||You'll be recieving a free breakfast every morning that you can request to be brought to your room or be prepared on the dining area of the resort. Sad to say there are no restaurant's within the place, youll have to walk on the beach area ( which is wonderful i should say. ) to get to dumaluan public. This is the a small place where you can order some food to eat. They have this DBR grill that serves grilled seafood and other avialable local dish of the philippines. Theres also a restaurant from the dumaluan beach resort beside the dumaluan public. Though this one is a bit pricey since youll be dining on a resort. The food none the less is worth worth the price on both if you decide to dine on either.||So far the resort with a low budget in mind wont disappoint. It will make your stay worth while. The only problem is that you dont have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to food. But youll be getting the best beach view with white sands and sandbars appearing during low tide. You can also find a lot of star fish washed a shore in the morning if you decide to swim early. For me thats cool since it means the beach area is filled with lush marine life. It wont make your swim to the beach an uncomfortable experience thats for sure. I made this review so that if any of whom who read this decides to go to bohol will have an idea of where to stay. You can check the agoda website to book on bolod beach if you find it to your liking. Its best to do an advance reservation for its a peak season during march to end of may in the summer season here in the Philippines. Theres also the alona beach area. This is where there are a lot of choices to choose from. Its about 15 minutes from bolod beach resort and youll have to take a service to get there. Its people packed and lot of hotels to choose from but the prices are not for the budget travel type. If you want a better beach experience and secluded area with not much people around the area in bolod resort is a definite choice. Alona area is fun but the beach is not.||So far its a 4 stars for bolod beach resort since we didnt get any problems at all in our stay. I hope this review helps in someway if you happen to decide on going to bohol, philippines. Just call on the resort to give you an assistance on how to get to there. Theyll be...
