Mariafe Inn is a locally operated little hotel. It's located in a residential area, but close to the Main Street to get to tricycle transportation. You can go pretty much anywhere in Puerto Princesa for 50 Pesos for 2 people, which is the minimum charge. The rooms are very clean, quiet, with comfortable beds. The air conditioning works well, and it is quiet. They have TV with a lot of English and Filipino channels. The WiFi works pretty well, but does occasionally drop out, depending where you are. Breakfast is included and was excellent! The menu changes everyday, and you can do special requests for food or type of juice. I tried the Filipino one day, and American the next day. Both were excellent! The Breakfast is served in an upstairs area with a beautiful view of the surrounding gardens and fauna. The staff was outstanding, especially Mark and Roly. Mark helped us book our tours. The tours will pick up at the hotel, and the staff will come to your room and notify you when the van has arrived, so no sitting around the lobby waiting. The rooms have refrigerators with a a reasonably priced supply of soft drinks, water, and beer. Some water is provided daily. The hotel offers free van transportation to and from the airport, which is about 15 minutes away. Very convenient! We loved our stay here and would definitely come back here. The hotel is reasonably priced and is an excellent value for the accommodations and amenities!! Another note, Philippine Airlines cancelled our scheduled flight, so we arrived at 6:30 am. The hotel was able to accommodate us that early with no...
Read moreThe best place so I've stayed at in the Philippines. Large spacious rooms, even has a sofa. The best part is that everything is spotless clean and nothing is worn down or broken. The room has a mini fridge and a small kettle to make your own coffee. To add to the already great quality and high standard is that the bed has such nice linnen (top quality) and a proper semi thick doona (not just a bed sheet) so you sleep like a baby here. The aircon is quiet, not the noisy wall box kind. Nice atmosphere with the tropical garden right outside the room where you have a small table to enjoy your morning coffee. It's right next to Rizal ave with the many food outlets. Takes 5min with motorbike to bay walk or large malls. I've put down 3 stars for service due to no restaurant feature but noting the host is great and picked us up from microtel very promptly with the brand new van. They will pickup from the air port...
Read moreOur favourite part of our stay here was definitely the breakfast without a doubt! It was such a generous selection, with the main meal being a choice of either an American, continental or Filipino breakfast, along with fruit, 3 different drinks and jams all included. The rooms were large and modern, the TV was of a good quality and had loads of English channels too. Only complaint would be probably an individual problem to our room; there were these strange small holes in the ceiling where sand kept falling through onto the floor throughout the day. You can see the hotel had tried to sellotape over them but this clearly hadn’t solved the issue - they should look into sorting this! But generally it’s a good room, perfect for a short stay in Puerto Princesa right near...
