Well worth the wait because they seem to be fully booked most of the time. If you are looking for a good and relaxing stay away from the metro then this is your place. We had such a wonderful stay at Escala Tagaytay that we immediately miss the place when we got back, that's how much we loved it here. The moment we got to the hotel we felt the blissful and gentle Filipino touch with the service personnel immediately assisting us with our things. The check in process was so smooth that within moments we were at our room. It was spacious enough for 3 families plus and the beds were arranged to maximize the room. I loved the sliding drawer and the seat next to it but the veranda and view were to die for. It has your standard room amenities, comfortable beds, wifi, TV, bathroom and the complementary items like water and fruits. The pool was located three floors from the lobby but can be easily accessed via lift or stairs. Although the pool wasn't heated and the weather was cold, after the initial dip it was very hard to get me off the water. The only problem I can think of is that the shower is located a couple of steps below the pool. The view during sunset and sunrise were so photo worthy that only the calm serenity of the place would top it off. The next day's breakfast was plentiful with a good amount of selection. You have your usual carbs and proteins, typical of any Filipino buffet fair. The egg and crepe station is a must. You can also ask to be served hot coco which is a must try. The plentiful food can only be topped off with the great and warm service of the staff. With only a limited number of rooms which are quite spacious, you'll feel that you have your own little space of paradise when you stay here. Make sure to book the Family Prestige room if you have pregnant or senior citizens with you because the cellar rooms are a few flights down and the stairs are not located indoors and are prone to getting slippery and wet.

We booked 2 rooms at Escala Hotel via Klook for a special family trip to celebrate our anniversary, expecting a comfortable and memorable experience. Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing and did not live up to the hype or the ₱10,000 per night price tag. Room Experience: We encountered mosquitoes in the room, which was frustrating. Initially, I thought it was just our room, but my brother’s room (where he stayed with his wife and 1-year-old baby) had the same issue. For a hotel of this standard, pest control should be a given — this was not only uncomfortable but also concerning for a baby. Breakfast Buffet: The breakfast buffet was underwhelming. The selection was very limited, and what was available was bland and lacking flavor. For the rate we paid, we expected a better culinary experience. Having stayed in several other hotels around Tagaytay at similar or even lower prices, Escala’s breakfast is one of the most disappointing. Buffet Area Rules – Confusing and Poorly Communicated: Another issue we faced was with the buffet area dress code. My brother and his family were asked to change out of their pajamas, even though the posted rules only mentioned singlets, bathrobes, and hotel slippers as not allowed. Pajamas were not mentioned, which made the enforcement feel inconsistent and poorly communicated. Overall Impression: For a hotel marketed as 4-star with a ₱10,000+ nightly rate, we were expecting a premium experience, but it simply didn’t deliver. From the mosquito issue to the disappointing buffet and unclear policies, everything felt overhyped and not worth the cost. In hindsight, we should’ve booked at Lake Hotel or Twin Lakes Hotel instead. I’ve also stayed at The Oriental Hotel in Tagaytay, which offers far better value and service compared to Escala..

Overrated and overpriced... You get one and a half things of value from this property: one is the view which is great and the half is the pool. The pool is half because the water is so cold that very few people could stand to stay in the water longer than it took to take a picture. I watched over 20 people either use the pool for long enough to talk a self / pics or test the water temperature and just use the side of the seating area for their pics. The room was decaying and dirty in multiple places especially the carpet, chair and paint on the walls. Parking is a complete mess with barely enough spaces for guests and a parking lot design so poor that some of the end spaces can't be used because cars can't get around the corners if the end spaces are used. Stopper (plug) in the bathtub randomly pops open without being touched causing the water to drain. Live music during the evening in the restaurant was so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation with someone at the same table. Food was adequate but we ended up using Grab Food and driving to nearby restaurants for most of our meals. Easy and nice walk to the Skyranch in the evening. So if you are looking for a great view and to swim in extremely cold water then this is a good place for you. Otherwise, save yourself a bunch of money by staying somewhere that provides greater value and hit one of the many observation spots to get some good pics. 3/10 and would strongly NOT recommend to stay here.

I have booked a room at your place expecting an experience with the same worth as your room rate. However, during our stay, we were greeted by hordes of mosquitoes in our room. By the way, we had a 1 yr old kid with us. We then informed the front desk about the situation thru a phone call but the receptionist kept on cutting the conversation saying, "Sige po, mag papababa po kami ng tao.", then hung up without letting us finish discussing the details and letting her know that we have a kid with us.

The doorbell rang and outside was 2 staff who brought an insect repellant and an alcohol. I asked if what he brought was odorless since if not, it is harmful for the baby to inhale. He then answered that it is not and told us to stay at the Veranda while they spray and let the smell from the repellant fade away, take note, an open area outside our room during the night, if there are hordes of mosquitoes in our room, what more could the Veranda possible have?

I explained what I said above and he told us if they could spray alcohol instead. What the hell could the alcohol do in that situation? I refused and asked if they have a UV light or anything that can kill the mosquitoes, he said that they have an electric racket which they brought when they came back.

We used the racket but failed to kill a single mosquito. We let the night pass by without resolving the problem.

That same night after coming from a dinner outside the hotel, we checked the dresscode for the breakfast buffet before going back to our rooms. The dresscode says that the clothes that are not allowed are bathrobes, gym clothes and swimwear ONLY.

The next day, we went there in our PJs and was blocked off by a staff saying that our clothes are not allowed in the area. She then redirected us to the receptionist which then directed us to another staff that told us that our attire is not really allowed ib the buffet area. I rebutted and pointed out the placard displayed that it ONLY says that Bathrobes, Gym clothes and Swimwears are not allowed in the area.

We were told that to respect others who are in the buffet area, to kindly change into another outfit. We have been to multiple hotels, even 5-star ones, but never in out lives that we were rejected just because we are wearing PJs. But to finish the argument, we went back to our rooms, changed and ate.

Another disappointment came. Food and choices were terrible. For a 10k+ stay, this was not worth it. From steamed assorted hotdogs to assorted longganisas that were placed together, to very few salad ingredients, to crepes that were served very late, milk that was not cold for the 2 cereal choices, to the salad area filled with Pascual Yogurt that ate most of the space, to waffles that are not very well cooked and pancakes which are soggy and taho which did not have the capacity to serve all guests.

Overall experience was horrible. I would never go back nor recommend this overhyped place to anyone. I would rate this place 0/10 if it weren't for your polite security staff.

I haven't said everything yet but I can confidently say that I wasted the money and time spent...

At the rate that the rooms are going for this hotel, we had HIGH expectations, not too high that it’s impossible to meet but man were we disappointed. I’m just going to go dive in the bad. We booked two rooms, and what we immediately noticed was the walls, they were peeling, not the small peels, it were long peels like the ones you see at super old hotels, the balcony walls had cracks, the corner of the bathrooms restroom had a slight leak. Considering the location of the hotel, you’d expect that they would put dehumidifiers or even those aesthetic charcoal bags to absorb the damp smell of the room, but nada. There were also mosquitoes or some insects flying around inside the room, as one should expect from the location of the place and they should’ve anticipated it as well and maybe put in one of those UV lights that electrocuted insects, they aren’t that expensive, but again, nada. Ok, let me now get to the worse, the restaurant (Bellissima, to be exact). BIL and SIL were both wearing silk pj’s, they were those silk pants pyjamas, that you can wear at the mall and no one would even bother looking at them. They were stopped at the entrance because according to the lady, they were not in appropriate dress code. Then when they pointed out that the placard at the front didn’t say anything about pj’s (literally the placard only had restrictions for people wearing bathrobe and swim wear), the woman’s reason was that other guests might complain about what they were wearing. They were literally wearing silk pants and shirts, some of the people inside were wearing tank tops that were showing nipples but they were allowed? Anyway, they went ahead and changed anyway, and the food was a joke.

I can name the dishes that were there because the selection wasn’t big.

Mix of hotdogs - literally, mixed, some where chicken hotdogs, some where the regular ones all tossed in a single tray. Longganisa (both skinless and regular) in one tray. Bacon - overcooked they were so difficult to chew, even the burnt black ones were mixed in. Tinapa(?) tuyo and another dried fish on the other table beside some rice. Soup (macaroni and tinola) “Salad bar” and some yogurt cups to fill in the missing spaces because there were only like 5-6 salad ingredients and 3 salad dressing bowls. Bread bar - 5 options of breads with some jams 2 types of cereal with some milk.

I’ve been in BOUTIQUE hotels with more variations in their breakfast buffet compared to this one.

The crepe station and the omelette stations were the only redeeming factors and they aren’t even amazing, they were just better than everything else.

I’m not basing my review on how they treated my BIL & SIL regarding their clothing at all, but if you’re going to be like that, then at least make sure that the food you’re serving would be 4 star hotel worthy.

Now, let’s go to what’s good. The hotel staff were friendly, the view was great, everything else was just meh.

We just really had HIGH expectations of Escala considering the fact that it’s a 4-star hotel, but we were disappointed. Would I recommend? No. Will we ever be back? No. Is it worth...

I was really excited to stay in Escala for my holiday with family. We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights with my in-laws from Singapore. It is not my first time in Tagaytay but it's my first time staying in Escala. I decided to give it a try after seeing the breathtaking view from my Facebook feed.

The place did not disappoint us, however, the service was not what we expected considering the price we had to pay. On our first night, one of our rooms air conditioner did not function well. We informed the receptionist before we left the hotel to explore Tagaytay so they can fix it before our bedtime. We came back around 8pm to prepare for our massage but the aircon was still not working.

My dad has a pulmonary disease and it is not advisable for him to stay in hot places without aircon as it affects his breathing. However, he was too tired and fell asleep despite the stuffiness in our room. I booked a nice and comfortable place for our families to relax and unwind since it is our HOLIDAY - which is very precious for us, overseas Filipino workers.

Around 9pm the electrician came to our room to check the aircon and told us that their system has a PROBLEM. He was not able to fix it and told us that he will come back later. We have already finished our massage and had wine before sleeping but our aircon is still not fixed. We waited patiently and we were to tired to keep asking for follow up so all of us fell asleep.

Around 2am, my dad had difficulty in breathing and called the receptionist. The electrician came back with a front desk representative and asked if we can shift to another room!!! So fine, My dad and mom shifted to the other room with a PROPER aircon but I have a sister who is a deep sleeper and it is impossible for her to wake up once she has decided to sleep. So I stayed with my sister in the room without aircon as I do not want her to sleep alone.

At 6am, the receptionist called our room (FYI, I remember your name Kuya) to tell me, "Ma'am you have to leave the room now otherwise you will be charged extra fees as you are occupying 2 rooms". Without saying sorry and he sounded as if I did something wrong.

OK fine, I managed to drag my sis to the other room with my parents. But hey, you woke me up twice without a proper apology. You should know that IT IS YOUR FAULT, NOT OURS. I paid for the room and facilities but you failed to give me what I paid for and now you want us to pay more? Fantastic service.

So I washed up and went down for breakfast although I planned to sleep longer because I AM ON HOLIDAY but thanks to your staff for ruining my precious sleep. I talked to the receptionist and all they could say are lousy excuses. I handle customer service as well and all I can say is your staff needs proper training - especially those who are at the front desk. Make our money worth not just because your location is facing the Taal lake but make sure you provide quality service as well.

Nice place but definitely not coming back as it is not worth my hard...
