We were really impressed with this hotel. The room was not the largest though the bed was comfortable, the shower was good (though a little high to step in to over the bath) and the shower gel/hand washes smelled lovely! We had the room refreshed once during our stay and we were really impressed with how much the housekeeper did, changing the beds, fresh towels, clean bins and a wipe around - over all the cleanliness standard was very good across the hotel, particularly noticable in the toilets on the lowest floor. The food in the restaurant for the evening meal that we enjoyed was fair priced and a good quality, the vegetables were fresh and the food was genuinely of a good standard, however the menu was not the largest which was a little challenging for myself as a vegetarian. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed a trip on the hotel boat which was very reasonably priced at 20 zoloty each. The hotel was well served by the number 3 (and possibly 24) tram hence this was ideal for popping in to the main town of Krakow. We very much enjoyed our stay and in particular we liked the glass lift and the pool on the top floor, allowing for lovely views across the city. It would have been nice if there were a top floor restaurant or cafe to enjoy the views too! My only draw back about the hotel would be disabled accessibility, I walk with a stick so can manage fairly well though I did struggle with the bath for the shower, it was exceptionally high. I could not access the jacuzzi area at all easily due to it being so very deep to step in to plus there was a flight of stairs to the changing rooms hence a staff member needed to allow me in through a normally unused door to access the pool area, the staff were helpful (particularly a lovely young girl that was working in the leisure area) though this was not ideal. I also found the seating in the reception area to be plentiful though somewhat low and overly deep hence it was a little uncomfortable. I also felt a little unsafe in the lower ground toilets, they were the public/reception toilets and they were accessible through the car park which was under the hotel, hence in theory anybody could have been in them. The fact that the lighting had to be activated by walking in to a dark empty room area was quite unnerving for me entering the area alone, I would hope that the hotel might consider the lighting down that area, otherwise they were fantastic toilets and they were exceptionally clean. Overall the hotel was brilliant and I would certainly recommend...
Read moreI’ve stayed at Qubus hotel twice, both for 3 nights Tuesday-Friday.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean bed and substantial breakfast.
The rooms- nothing fancy & quite dated however perfect for those who want a practical space. They offer kettle, coffee and tea making, iron & ironing board & TV (albeit the only English Channels were sky news & Comedy Central). The rooms are clean, as well as the bathroom. The bath is a nice size too- big enough for a 6”2 man to enjoy a relaxing soak in (as my other half did). All in all, I’d compare the room to a premier inn room in the UK, nothing to rave about but perfect in practicality.
The hotel- the staff are really friendly & are able to help in anyway they can. The hotel offers to hold your luggage for you in a locked luggage room if you have a later flight as the check out is 12pm. The swimming pool, sauna & jacuzzi are clean & warm. The gym is small but has enough equipment to keep moving, it’s no means a proper gym set up however it’s good for a gym at a hotel.
The breakfast- 9/10, the only thing that I feel there could be more of is alternative milks. They do offer lactose free & soya however I am one who struggles with milk and soya so I just brought my own oat milk along with me. They do however offer an array of options for breakfast itself, the coffee is nice, the options are varied. Lots of meat & cheese, breads, pastries, freshly made waffles (with yummy toppings), lots of variety of fruits, cereals, salad bits, hot food (bacon, eggs boiled & scrambled, beans etc). We really did enjoy the breakfast a lot.
The location- perfect if you like being on the outskirts, and by outskirts I mean a 15 min walk to the old town square or a 5 min tram. There’s a tram stop across the road from the hotel, a train station 5 min walk from hotel which has a direct line to the airport, so many Zabka around the hotel (corner shop/supermarket) although to be fair there’s just so many Zabka everywhere in Krakow!
All in all, we really loved our stay here & we will be back for a 3rd visit, now we’ve found this hotel, we’ll be using it for every trip to...
Read moreQubus Hotel Kraków is a fine establishment. I do not typically provide 5 star reviews, but there are a couple of reasons I will in this case.
The management team is customer-centric and supportive. I had my business trip delayed 2 weeks and prepaid the room. With less than 24 hours' notice, they changed my reservation to 2 weeks out and sure enough when I showed up everything was fine. Many other hotels charge a late change fee or similar - not this Qubus Hotel. Bonus kudos for such service.
Great restaurant option for breakfast and dinner. For a business trip you can grab a pretty solid quality European breakfast mix. They have most everything you would expect and it is kept fresh and restocked often. For dinner they have a variety of selections that enable people that eat most types of food to be able to try something new each night of the week. Nothing I tried disappointed - top quality marks all around. This is important because many hotels in EU that have food services can lack in either flavor or appearance/presentation, but that is not the case at Qubus Hotel Krakow.
Other general positive details: they have an iron and ironing board in the room - other places I've stayed in Europe typically do not have that amenity. The room featured a nice bathtub that was a bit deeper than standard, which was nice. Taxis/Uber options were readily available most times of the day - perhaps 1-3 minutes wait on average, which allows you to not have to schedule fixed times for pickups. Staff is generally friendly and helpful.
One thing to note for US travelers-bring your own advil/Tylenol/etc. Poland is a bit particular about over the counter medicines like these and they only sell such things at specific businesses (and only during regular hours). Better off to bring a few such medicines instead of trying to figure out a...
