The hotel has potential to be exceptional but just reception staff are not trained at all making the whole stay regrettable experience. The heating and the lighting systems are made absolutely unnecessary complicated. Never seen such a simple thing to need five steps, instead of usual one and NOT WORK. We stayed with our baby. First, you need to guess how many degrees is “1,2,3”. If you manage this, then you leave it on 3 (hottest), after three hours, in the middle of the night you’d wake up by your screaming baby cause instead of raising the temperature or keeping it the same, it decided to blow cold air and decrease the room temperature by 3-4 degrees. We stayed for five nights, this happened every single night and the staff could not care less about it. So we never had a full sleep cause of their failed heating system. Usually with an AC, you leave it on 25 degrees, it does whatever it needs to be done to keep the temperature. But I guess this was very old school. Also the night shift never passed to the day staff that we called during the nights with an issue. Zero communication between staff. The day before we left, I spoke AGAIN with the reception and apparently there was a technical error that they “fixed”. Our last night was again a horrible experience - the girl from the reception did not want to believe me when I kept telling her it’s cold in the room. Apparently their system is showing 25 degrees and she sees no problem and she is no technician and this temperature should be okay. I even invited her to check for herself that the system has an issue and the AC is blowing cold air, we have our own thermometer and it’s genuinely cold. Like why would we call at 1 am and 5 am to lie that the room is cold.. I’m not 15, I have a baby and need as much sleep as I can get. We were offered to switch rooms at 5 am, 7 hours before we checked out of the hotel.. very unprofessional..
The lighting is another wrong investment. You have the moody one which is nice, but from the 15 lights in the room, you can not actually choose which ones you need. They also chose for you that under the sink lamp will be lighting only while you are in the bedroom area. The moment you step into the bathroom, it will go completely dark, cause let’s be honest, at this point of life, you should know what to do there with your eyes closed.
The organised tour in Auschwitz
Happy that we booked through the hotel. But: the girl that booked us advised that it should be paid directly to the driver. So we continue our day and holiday with the idea that is booked. A few hours later completely random, we opened the email from the tour and it says it’s cancelled cause it was not paid. 💀 apparently you have only two hours from the booking to pay online. Okay, sorted it out, no drama. We were advised that the tour will be 6-7 hours. It was 14 hours all together.. The drivers said we are lucky, cause we didn’t wait long. So whoever has dealt with a baby, would know what a tragedy happens when food is not served within 2 seconds to the baby. So you can imagine the drama, when the food is prepared for 7-8 hours and all of a sudden you have so many more hours to cover.
In general, very unprofessional, would not recommend and would not stay in the group anymore. It’s should be a four star service. For the money you pay, these basic issues should not occur. Very disappointing, had much better service in far more cheaper places. We understand that issues happen, it was just not...
Read moreLocated in the heart of Kazimierz (Kraklow’s Jewish district), the hotel is very conveniently located – just a minute off the main road and with easy access to trams, etc. It’s a mere 10-15 mins distance from the central station & the old town square and a 5-minute walk to most of the key attractions of Kazimierz. With plenty of dining options, shops & other utilities within a few minutes range, the hotel could not be more conveniently located The rooms are ultra-modern (with everything being operated with a tab), and while they are a tad compact, they are spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Ours had a view into the open-to-sky verandah/courtyard, which was a beautiful sight considering the fresh snow lit up by a grand set of lit globules. And while the rooms don’t feature a tea/coffee maker, you can leverage the free & fancy coffee vending machine, which has a multitude of coffee & tea options and with a brilliant soy-milk option. Spacious, very well appointed rooms in a heritage building. The building by itself is very modern, chic, and has an air of Scandinavian minimalism. There was a good common sitting area with a TV and board games and a charming open/garden section (unfortunately closed for the winter), which had multiple group seating options – can imagine this place would be throbbing in the warmer times Very amiable & pleasant service by the reception & front-desk. They were helpful & guided us in getting around the city, etc. Breakfast was nothing short of excellent – the spread had multiple courses, with more than all the essentials of a good breakfast buffet, in addition they also had some made-to-order dishes, which one could call for. And yes, options for vegetarians & vegans were aplenty – kudos for that Puro. While we couldn’t try their other meal offerings or even their well-stocked bar, but both definitely seemed very good options, definitely for our next stay
Final words: an excellent place to stay in Krakow, esp. if you want to be close to the historical and now-very-happening area of Kazimierz. Both, the stay & the dining options are top-notch, we’ll back soon when we can enjoy...
