This was our second stay at this very good hotel only steps from the beach. The suite was spacious with a comfortable bed, a couch area with a sofa bed, two televisions, a refrigerator, and a nice fully private balcony with direct views of the lighthouse and beach, but you'll have to stand up to enjoy it (instead of a railing or glass it is a rather high front wall). The free wifi worked well. My biggest complaint about the room is also the easiest to fix, as I pointed out the last time I stayed in this room in 2017. We had to use a cardboard box for our trash.||||The staff is very nice and accommodating, and housekeeping was very good and very efficient. The complimentary breakfast was reasonably good with a nice variety, but too many desserts for my taste. I'm still not a big fan of their coffee/espresso. It's a lot better outside from the cafe next door.||||But if you're looking for the best hotel in the Costa Nova/Barra area with an excellent value,...

So I booked on line, and then walked five blocks up the street to Hotel Farol with my little suitcase rolling along behind me.||||All that was available was what they term a superior room, at seventy euros per night. It turned out to be newly refurbished, with a fabulous view of the lighthouse and of the entrance to the shipping channel into the Port of Aveiro. The oversized balcony would have been fabulous to enjoy, had I been staying there in milder and dryer weather.||||The room was quite spacious. The breakfast too was better than I'd expected at a three star hotel in Portugal, and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant to deal with. Although the price seemed a bit high, I can't complain in the slightest about this hotel. It's more than I've come to expect for a Portuguese...
