Restaurante Praia Do Farol — Restaurant in Ílhavo

Very lovely golden sand across the beach, with clean sea water.

This beach is on an island, which is accesible via a number of ferry/boat options which depart from Faro - prices ranging between 5-80 euros depending on the service they provide.

Food options around the beach were pretty poor - with only about 3/4 restaurants, with only one serving food past 4 pm. Because of this, it was really busy and the food was rather expensive for what you got. The juices were delicious.

There was only one WC I could find which could take in one person at a time… the queue wasn’t particularly massive however you’d be waiting there a few minutes (10/20).

We went during one of the busiest periods in the year, and getting a spot on the beach to lay our towels was slightly more difficult than some of the competing beaches around the Faro area. Lots of kids and lots of locals too.

Water was a little cold… maybe they could add some radiators to the shore, or maybe undersea floor heating?

We could not find any shower facilities.

The restaurant is cozy and the food is OK. We went there for dinner during the week but it is obvious they have staff that are not trained/new and only one Brazilian waiter was giving an outstanding service. The seafood rice was OK and we ordered for 2 people however, the portion it was big. So take that in mind when you order, perhaps for 2 people that are used to eat a lot it might be worth it. We took the leftovers home because it was still rice for 2 people 😅 I would come back here for the food but something that really annoyed me is that for some reason all the 3 waiters disappeared for long periods at the same time and the desserts took a long long time...

We were there for lunch and we did not regret it. Service are very friendly and helpful. We did spend a lot of time there because the restaurant was full We need to wait a bit for our food but we did enjoy every moment. For the people who are there for some quick food, it is definitely not a place and for the people who wants to enjoy the authentic and affordable local food...this is definitely a must try. Everything was good there, mostly their dessert. Thank you again for the great food...
