A very good, simple, inexpensive and well located||It is a pension located at 300-400 meters from the Obidos castle, hardly a 10 min walk. Family run, with 8 rooms. Rooms are very spacious, the bathroom is a bit small. Flat screen TV. Good free wifi in the rooms and the whole area. Good beds and linen. I have the say comment though with another reviewer, Petra: both nights I slept there, I had terrible headaches, like them! Very clean. Wooden floor. Toiletries. Simple but good breakfast. Very good espresso coffee! Right next, there are the voluntary fire brigades but I was not disturbed by any noise, neither by the occasional traffic of the small national road, the N8 (there is double glazing but even with open windows, there is no problem). There is free private parking available. Across the street there is a very interesting old church to visit, as well as a very good and inexpensive local restaurant for dinner, the Vila Infante (better book, it is often full). Graca and her son Tiago are extremely friendly and helpful. They also serve dinner, except Sundays. No lunch. It is an excellent place and a great value for money. The pension is very well located if you want to visit the wonderful area around, and it is better to rent a car. For example: Lagoa de Obidos, Foz de Arelho, Peniche and its caslte and the beautiful beach of Baleal, the Buddha garden in Bombarral, Caldas da Rainha (very good Museo Jose Malhoa ) of the naturalists, Alcobaca and its Mosteiro (amazing!), Batalha and its Mosteiro (extraordinary!), a bit further Tomar ( a UNESCO site), the Barragem de Boda (the biggest reservoir of Portugal), Nazare...and of course all the rest I did not have the time to visit! Graca, her husband and Tiago will very pleasantly surprise you with their excellent and warm hospitality and efficiency. Do not go there if you are looking for a...

Our kind hostess greeted us with a couple of cold cervejas, which we greatly appreciated!|Room was very spacious and clean, with facilities for preparing meals. We took advantage of the breakfast, which was included with the room, and had our dinner the first night up in the old town, and the following two nights at Vila Infante across the street. |Cristavo and his wife were very kind and helpful. He was a great host who helped arrange a trip to Obidos Lagoon for a day of walking. He also provided us with a ride to the bus stop for our onward journey to Lisbon, thus avoiding a long walk with luggage. We enjoyed our conversations with him, and his insight into Portuguese culture and every day life.|Highly recommend Patio das Margaridas on your...
