I stayed at this hostel with friends over the weekend and it was an amazing experience. The place is pretty spacious, artsy and cosy. While the weather wasn't nice when we were there, the hostel more than made up for the trip. They have a pretty nice fireplace which kept us warm, comfortable and in the right Obidos mood while we played cards (they even had uno cards there). The fireplace and the mood it gives the place is definitely a bonus point, especially for cold seasons. The kitchen was well equipped, we cooked pretty much all meals throughout the weekend. I'm a rather picky person with bathrooms and this was perhaps the biggest win for me, as they were pretty spacious and clean. Moreover, the shower is easy to regulate in terms of warmth and the water pressure was just right. Most importantly, the owner is incredibly friendly and ready to help in whatever is needed. He helped us several times with information regarding transporation from Lisbon to Obidos. Moreover, I had to leave the hostel in a hurry to catch my bus back to Lisbon and ended up forgetting a pillow I had brought along that my grandmother gave to me when I was born. I only realized it in Lisbon and thought I would never see it again. I contacted the owner and asked about it. He not only found it but shipped it to my place without a charge! I literally couldn't expect anything better from the experience. Earned my fullest recommendation and trust! :)
Definitely the place we're staying the next time we...
Read moreThis was a great hostel to stay at! First of all, I loved the setup of the room. Having mostly single beds feels like such a luxury when most places have bunk beds. Make sure you check your email and/or texts for information on how to do selfcheck in. It's really easy to do, but you'll need the code to grab your key. The owner was super helpful; though I never met him in person, every time I texted, he always answered and gave me the info I needed. The beds were really comfortable, the place was perfectly clean, and you cannot beat the location. I would definitely stay here again in the future.
If you are looking for someone to do a tour with in the surrounding areas (Nazare, Batalha, Fatima, etc) or in Obidos, it can be a challenge. I found Teresa (Teresa vai de feiras) and she rocked! She picked me up at the hostel and took me to even more places than I had...
Read moreWe stayed in a room with double bed. Shared bathroom. Maria is a great host. All very clean, Art all over the place, lots of books. The other space (dormitory) has bunks and beds and can be divided with a curtain. More the hostel trend. Breakfast is really good with home made jams and scrambled eggs. If its a full house Maria asks you to bring the used dishes to the kitchen and wash them. She hands over the front door key so you can come in when you want as she leaves at around 18:00 hours. Free WiFi. It says free parking but that's not correct as you need to find a paring space around the hostel. Do not leave things in the car as unfortunately Obidos has also been...
