Me and my fiancée stayed here in April 2022. We arrived the Sunday before Easter Sunday and stayed for a week.
The hotel Brisa Sol is only a 15 minute walk from the beach and is located right between "The Strip" (the New Town) and the Old Town. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance.
On arrival we approached the reception and were greeted by a friendly hotel staff member. We gave our names and after showing our passports and so on, were given our room keys - check in was smooth and quick.
We went up to our room and found a clean, nicely decorated room (though slightly dated decor perhaps).
The bathroom was spacious with plenty of room on the counter for toiletries. There was a large walk-in shower with excellent water pressure and temperature.
We had a well-stocked kitchenette which had a mini fridge, induction hobs, sink, kettle, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, and pretty much everything else needed in a kitchen.
Our room had a balcony which looked out over the road. The balcony had a fold-out clothes rack attached to the wall which was handy for hanging swimming attire. It also had a table and two chairs for sitting out on the balcony.
The bed was pretty hard, but still comfortable (I prefer a hard mattress anyway). We had two pillows on the bed plus another two in the cupboard. We had a sheet, a thin blanket, and a thicker blanket which was perfect for a Portuguese spring night. There was another thick blanket in the cupboard as well.
The room was air conditioned which worked very well. About half an hour of the air conditioner on full would make the room quite cold!
One negative on the hotel were that you had to pay for Wi-Fi which is quite unusual in modern times. We had to pay 10EUR per device for the week. We also had to pay 10EUR to use the room safe for the week, plus a 20EUR deposit for the lock. I can appreciate a deposit for the lock, but paying for the safe wasn't great.
We only went for breakfast in the restaurant which was excellent. There were the options of Full English, fruits, yoghurt, toast, scones, pastries, hot drinks, fruit juice, and so on. It was an "all-you-can-eat buffet" so you could help yourself to whatever you liked. We did eat out a couple of times, but for 10.50EUR - the price was quite competitive considering it was all-you-can-eat and drinks were included.
The snack bar opened mid-morning and had a variety of food available such as sandwiches, burgers, fries, ice cream, and so on. It was a little more expensive than you could get out in town, but it wasn't extortionate.
Facilities at the hotel included a heated indoor pool (which was quite small), an outdoor pool, a mini golf course, games room, a bar (drinks were a bit more expensive than going out, but again not extremely pricey), a gym, an internet café, and a few other things. Me and my fiancée enjoyed the outdoor pool, though at the time of year it was still a bit cold. The pool does get a bit crowded as well, but I didn't mind so much.
Staff at the hotel were generally friendly. Rooms were cleaned daily if you wished and the cleaners were nice. The restaurant staff were also very pleasant and attentive.
Overall, this was a really good hotel and we enjoyed our stay very much. We did not want to leave Portugal after our visit and recommend staying at the...
Read more🌞Having recently experienced the Hotel Brisa Sol in Albufeira🏨, Portugal, I can confidently say it's a solid choice for a relaxing and well-located Algarve getaway. What I "liked" most about Brisa Sol was its prime location, excellent facilities, and overall welcoming atmosphere. The hotel's position is truly a standout. Nestled perfectly between Albufeira's lively Old Town and the bustling "Strip," it offers the best of both worlds. Whether I wanted to explore the charming cobbled streets and traditional restaurants of the Old Town or enjoy the vibrant nightlife and modern shops of the Strip, everything was within a comfortable walking distance, usually around 10-15 minutes. The nearby beach was also a pleasant stroll away, making it easy to pop down for a quick dip or an afternoon of sunbathing. Beyond the location, the Brisa Sol impressed with its array of facilities. The outdoor pool area was a highlight, spacious and well-maintained with plenty of sunbeds, perfect for soaking up the Portuguese sunshine. It was great to have the option of a children's pool too, making it family-friendly. On cooler days, or for a change of pace, the indoor pool was a welcome addition, and it's nice to know it's available year-round. I appreciated the inclusion of apartment-style rooms with kitchenettes. This offered a fantastic level of flexibility, allowing me to prepare simple meals or snacks, which is a real bonus for longer stays or for those who prefer some self-catering. The rooms, while some might describe the decor as a bit dated, were undeniably spotlessly clean and comfortable, which is always my top priority. The balconies were also a lovely touch, offering a spot to enjoy the fresh air. While I didn't extensively use all the amenities, it was clear that the hotel offers a lot. The health club with a gym, sauna, and hot tub (though some facilities require a fee) is a great perk for those who like to stay active or unwind. The games room with mini-golf and snooker provides entertainment options, especially for families. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, contributing to the pleasant atmosphere. Daily room cleaning kept everything tidy, and while some online reviews mention fees for certain services like Wi-Fi or some health club facilities, I found the overall value for money to be very good, especially considering the central location and comprehensive amenities. In summary, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located hotel in Albufeira that offers a good range of facilities for both relaxation and recreation, the Hotel Brisa Sol is an excellent choice. It strikes a good balance between a traditional Portuguese feel and the practicalities needed for a enjoyable holiday. I would definitely recommend it for couples and families seeking a relaxed and accessible base to explore the...

Stayed here for a week with a Jet2 arranged package holiday. For what we paid it was an absolute bargain.
Rooms - The rooms are nice, beds comfy and plenty of space with everyone getting a balcony. Each has pots, pans, cutlery and cooking utensils, 2x hobs, toaster, microwave and kettle. If you want a nice view you have to upgrade because 50% overlook the quiet pool with a sea view. Because the hotel is an ‘L’ shape, 25% of the teaming rooms overlook the main road and shops with the final 25% over looking a side road and the shopping plaza next door. It’s cheaper to upgrade before you arrive they often don’t have any rooms left with a nice view as the sell out first. Rooms are cleaned to a high standard and towels replaced every day.
Pool and grounds - The main outdoor pool is large for the hotel size and has a small baby dip pool too. It’s very clean but not heated so is pretty chilly by the time it gets to the end of October. Nice well maintained grassed area and walkways with access to a heated indoor pool too.
Pool Facilities - You need to bring your own towel as they don’t have pool towels (odd for a 4 star) and hotel towels are not permitted out of the rooms. They have showers and toilets by the pool. There’s a kids indoor play area too as well as showers.
Pool Snack bar - There’s a pool snack bar selling a wide range of food, snacks, ice creams, soft drinks, beer and wine. Only a couple of veggie options and they don’t understand what vegan food is, so tread carefully vegans. It’s reasonably priced but drinks are higher than I’d have hoped.
Hotel Restaurant - never tried it - sorry.
Hotel Bar - It’s nice with a small terrace to sit on and overlook the pool and sea direction. It has some entertainment like a Karaoke night, a live singer hammering out 70’s and 80’s songs and the like. Nowhere to escape it and sit in the quiet if this isn’t your thing, but it’s good honest fun.
Hotel Games Room - Pool table - €2 a game, aa mini- mini- crazy golf, and a few other electronic games etc.
So that’s what you get access to for free. The next all cost …
Tennis court - a bit sandy but functional
Squash court - fine
Jacuzzi and sauna - cost €3 per day for unlimited access
All in all it’s nice hotel, probably 3 star plus but I’m not going to remove that 4th star as they try hard and it’s immaculate.
Would I return - If I came back to this resort - Yes. Cost, location and knowing it’s a nice place would be enough.
Would I recommend. If you’re getting a good deal like we did £500 for a week for 2 then definitely, but upgrade to a pool and sea view...
