Emeralds Albufeira — Hotel in Albufeira

Quite difficult to find a place that'll let 14 lads stay, let only a place which ticks all the boxes and was actually really quite good (I say lads, we're all 45-50). The hotel clearly caters for groups but for our stay in October each of the groups staying were all well behaved and mingled with each other politely throughout our stay. ||The reception staff were all super friendly at 11am sober check-in and at 3am when we had a couple of beers on board and it was time for bed. Check in & out was very quick considering the large group, and the bit of faff with deposits. ||The rooms were large enough for two and cleaned (quickly I'd say) a few times. Beds were alright I suppose, for three nights anyway. Fridge, kettle & coffee machine but it's a bring-your-own style room. Bathroom was fine but you could only have the shower on half pressure otherwise the shower tray would overflow. Hardly a big deal. Air con was great. A few late night noises from overly loud party-goers but as I was with a group of 14 I could hardly complain.||Breakfast was €12.50 buffet style, I only had one but again, it was alright. Snacks at the pool were cheap enough and they were alright too. The beers & drinks by the pool... they were alright (€5 for a pint of Sagres). The pool guy needs a shout out - he was also the breakfast guy - he deserves a pay rise.||The pool wasn't busy whilst we were there. Always able to get a bed. No loud music being played. And like I said, everyone around the pool seemed to be enjoying themselves. ||The location was really good. 10 mins to the strip. 10 mins to the beach. 10 mins to Old Town. Most of us walked everywhere but a few got Ubers which were ridiculously cheap and turned up within minutes.||Considering what we paid to stay here, and that we were a big group, we were all pleasantly surprised. Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for 2 nights 3 days and I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at (and I have been to many many hotels).||There’s so much to cover, I guess I’ll start with the staff first. The customer service in this hotel is just exceptional. The staff are super friendly and kind and they are always there to help whenever you need them with a smile on their face. We felt so welcomed it felt like we were all a big family.||The breakfast was also very very good. Nice variety there was something for everyone. The freshly made cakes and pastries as well as the fresh fruit were just top notch. We never left with an empty stomach.||The room exceeded my expectations. It was just massive with lots of room for anything you can think of. It was extremely clean and it smelt very fresh in the room. The bed was super comfortable as well.||The location was also great as it was right in the middle of the new town and old town (around 15mins walk) and around 15 mins walk to the beach. There’s a shopping mall around the corner from the hotel which makes it super easy to get any essentials you may need.||Overall I will definitely be coming back to the hotel. After reading reviews we were really worried about what to expect, we braced ourselves! However we were pleasantly surprised, definitley more 3 star than 4 though. Staff were pleasent, not overly friendly but still helpful if we needed any help. We didn’t get asked to pay the 200€ cash deposit which we were grateful for as that would of been a pain. The room was nice and big and bathroom felt modern. There was a slight smell from toilet but we managed to deal with it we got some room spray and kept the doors shut, we were out most of the day so didn’t really bother us too much. Location is amazing so close to town centre and big shopping centre next door for supplies. Make sure you buy washing up products as they don’t clean dishes or glasses. Breakfast is also great lots of options and it’s all kept full and warm. Pool area is fine enough sunbeds are not comfortable at all, I think they need to invest in some new ones as a lot of them are dipped and broken.
