MOONFALL — Hotel in Calheta

I spent 3 nights in the Moonfall apartment and I was very pleased with the accommodation. The whole apartment is new and very modern. You have your own parking place, grill and good air conditioning which can be used for good heating - which is not always the case on Madeira (I have been to 3 different accommodations there already) I was greeted with a bottle of wine, some fruit and very tasty honey bread/cake with fruits which ended up being a good snack inside a canyon for me and my group. The bathroom is very modern too with big shower. Same goes for kitchen appliances - all new and modern.

The internet connection was good as well - I haven't used it extensively but I downloaded pictures and videos from 3 canyoning trips which was few gigabytes in size and it downloaded very quickly.

If I were to return again to Madeira and in need of smaller accommodation, I'd 100% contact the host of...

We stayed at Arturo’s holiday house and really enjoyed it. Arturo was a great host, spoke fluent English. Since we booked our trip late, finding a rental car at a good price was difficult, but Arturo kindly helped and referred us to his friend/neighbor in Calheta. He was quick to reply on WhatsApp and his family was very friendly. We got fresh fruit, veggies, and homemade cake when we arrived. The place was super clean and comfortable, it has everything you need. We will definitely comeback!

Really well equipped, modern appartment. Nice balcony with a pizza oven, lovely views. The hosts were welcoming and had great communication by whatsapp. Parking is enclosed behind a secure gate. It can only be accessed driving down the hill with apartment on the right. We had a ford fiesta, it was very tight to get but manageable. Having a car is essential at this location. There is a great Italian restaurant 5 minutes walk away. I would definitely...
