This certainly isn't a luxury hotel, but it's decent and good value. Rooms are large enough, very clean, and have a good work desk area. Bathrooms are in bright pastel colours. Views over the city are good if you are on a higher floor. My room had no easy chair, which I missed, but otherwise it was well-furnished. The old part of the city is not too far a walk from the hotel.||||It was quiet on my side of the hotel (north side), but one reviewer mentioned noise from traffic. It's true that the windows don't block out much of the outside noise (I clearly heard every word from a group of partyers that walked by the hotel at around 10 PM), so it noise is a concern try to get a room that faces north or east, away from the busy street that goes by the railway station.||||We found out through experience that, at least as far as we could tell, there are no convenience stores in the vicinity that are open in the evenings. ||||The underground parking was a nice plus, but the actual layout of the parking spaces was one of the most bizarre I have ever seen. Depending on how many spaces are filled, you may end up with a parking space that will require someone to give directions while you park. ||||The breakfast room on the 11th floor was also a nice plus. Breakfast consisted of the usual assortment of meats, danishes, yogurt, fruit (no oranges, however) and something I have never seen before - bright pink...
Read moreThis large, high-rise hotel overlooks the town and is convenient for those travelling by public transport, or by car with underground parking provided. Our good-sized room was clean, functional and quiet, apart from some traffic rumbling on the cobbled street below. Breakfast is taken on the 11th floor and provided a decent buffet selection including some heated options, something that is only occasionally found in Portuguese accommodation. Service staff were polite and efficient. All considered the hotel was good value for money.||||A 10 minute stroll brings you to the old town and its picturesque plazas and narrow streets with a range of cafés and restaurants, although more local establishments are in the vicinity...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night during the summer. The hotel could use a lick of paint on the outside, it's not very attractive. It's situated next to the train station but we didn't have any problem with noise. The hotel is within walking distance of the city (10 minutes) and has a free parking garage which was great. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast room on the 11th floor has spectacular views. The breakfast was OK but not overwhelming. The room was very clean, but the mattress was a bit too firm for us. I could not access the Wifi from my laptop because of some security issues (it did work with the smartphone). The shower spout leaked while running a bath which was...
