My husband and I stumbled in for a pre-dinner drink when we arrived in Guimaraes on motorcycles after a long day riding. The owner Andre filled our cups and spent some time talking about Fado, music and his hometown tapas restaurant. Totally charming company; we made a reservation for dinner right then and there. Well OMG, what a wonderful time we had for dinner! We ordered the tapas tasting menu and filled our bellies with the most delicious elevated tapas we've ever had! Every bite was divine! Read moreGood food, not great. The portions seemed a touch small compared to other gastropubs in the area. Good prices though. I tried the Mushroom and mixed veggies omelet... Pretty tasty. Almost more like an egg pizza than a traditional omelet. And since that didn't fill me up, I ordered a plate of nachos. Very good taste, but again the portion seemed small. I wonder if the idea is more of a bar than a gastropub, but either way, it was good. I tried THEIR in house IPA... very good, just a pretty small cup for 3€...but all in all... A good little...
Read moreOverall, it was an amazing experience. The service was excellent, very friendly and helpful. I give 4 stars for the food because the first tacos that came were made out of wheat which I didn’t know because im used to the traditional corn tortillas. As im wheat allergic I had to order the corn ones which weren’t soft tacos :-( but everything else was fantastic and I’m coming back to try the beetroot carpaccio because it wasn’t ready to serve yet! :-)
