We stayed in a private room with bathroom and balcony overlooking Guimaraes at the back of the 300 year old house,built with large granite slabs possibly reclaimed from the old city walls. The house is situated in a beautiful street setting, that upon returning at night, gave the illusion of having a light frost covering because of the street lights reflecting on the dusty layer of exposed sand, loosened from underneath some of the cobbled road surface.|Fausto, Celia and the other lady on reception welcomed us warmly and were very good at providing information on the local area.|The hostel proved very good value for money, an adequate breakfast and I have no problem in thoroughly recommending it.|The only thing that disappointed me on our visit, was the sight from the room balcony, at approximately 20 meters, of a quiet and dejected dog, tethered on a short chain next to it's kennel. Read moreWe stayed for one night in this beautiful hostel. The owner is so nice! He talked to us a little bit about the city and showed us where we should go. Everything is very, very clean. Wifi in the entire house. We were alone in the hostel and situated on the last floor, but we didnt mind. Usually we would get breakfast in other hostels with this price, but here you have to pa extra. Even though the breakfast isn't included, the owner gave us coffee for free and that was very nice :) it started to rain and He showed us a shortcut to train station.
