Real photos and review.
I want to start with a good things in Metropolitan Living Lisbon: easy access, white clean bed linen and towels, powerful hairdryer. Everything was ok until we entered appartment 22.
Entrance: It was difficult to enter, carefully 1 by 1. First step in and you are already at the kitchen table, between microwave and door to the bedroom. No even place to take of shoes (picture 6). Bedroom: look on the pictures how small it is. Bed is only 140cm near the wall and from the one side there is narrow passage to the toilet. No bedside tables or lights, no sockets to charge telephone, if you sleep near the wall, you are blocked by the wardrobe at the bedfoot. One way only to get up it’s through your partner (to wake him up). There is TV on the wall, but it’s possible to watch only with the closed door to the ‘kitchen/entrance’. The room is so small, that 2 persons can’t stand or move the same time, if you want pass to toilet or arrange your clothes in the wardrobe, the other person has to be on the bed, literally. No space to cross by each other. You have to watch your second person and plan your movements. Like Not to forget close the door to the kitchen, if husband watch the news. Bathroom: logically it’s a small there. Size of wash-stand smaller than in the train/plain. No place for cosmetic bag or face cream at all. See photos 3-4. You can’t wash your face, without having all the water on the floor nearby, and you can’t keep there a foot-towel, no space because of the door movement.
We arrived at 19.00 and I immediately called to administration to change our room 22 for something bigger even with extra payment. But all was occupied (by the answer of staff), no apt to switch.
Next morning I called and texted to Booking at 8am with demand of reimbursement the rest of money for the other 3 nights. We were wanted to move out to any available hotel. 0 help. Simply saying, if photos on the Booking don’t correspond to reality, means you already lost your money+ ruined vacation. It is not a hotel when you can check out and pay for the nights of staying.
We were trying to come back as possible late and maximum not to be in this box-room. This room 22 is not for a pleasant staying in (just impossible), it’s maybe ok for 1 person and business trip staying. Photos are OVER-Photoshopped, made from the good focus/corner not to show a size.
Also when we were looking for a hotels to replace, we found out that we payed to Metropolitan a price of good 4* hotels. But we didn’t see all this hotels on Booking from France. So next time we will use VPN. And it’s our last booking of apartment. Only hotels now. Hope it will help you to do a good choice and to have a...
Read moreMetropolitian Living - janelas Verdes is a fantastic place to stay if you're in Lisbon for pleasure or for work.|I went solo because I was there to help my son find an appartment, so I took a one-person room, but it had a nice kitchen, bathroom, a little table, TV with programs in English. Ok, it was tiny, but you didn't feel cramped because the shared portions of the appartment were huge: you could go to the beautiful breakfast room, have free coffee and fresh fruit, watch a huge TV, or have cocktails at the small pool, with its tables under a nice shade tree.|There are all sorts of shops and restaurants around the district, though the metro doesn't go there. But Uber drivers all speak English if like me your Portuguese is...
Read moreWe booked our stay through Airbnb, but for the price (€206), it wasn’t worth the value. The room had a small, unusable kitchen, though they do offer catering options on a side menu. There was no noise isolation, and the kitchen appliances were quite loud. The bed was too small for two people, and the pillows were of poor quality, making it uncomfortable to sleep. On top of that, the apartment wasn’t thoroughly cleaned, with spots on the mirrors and shower. Service was also slow to respond, if they did at all, when we reached out through the chat. In hindsight, booking a hotel would have been a much better option, especially if the trip is planned in advance,...
