The rooms at Oca Oriental Porto are very clean, spacious, and comfortable with soft beds and pillows. Our room overlooked the front of the hotel and included a small yet nice balcony. The closet was roomy and open with no doors, which we enjoyed. There's a nice sized flat-screen TV, with a small desk underneath. It also included a convenient mini fridge and coffee maker with complimentary coffee and teas. The bathrooms are nicely designed with a huge shower that includes dual shower heads. One on a removable handle, and also an amazing overhead rainshower that has great pressure. An unusual perk, and greatly appreciated, is the amount of time that you have to go to breakfast. They open the beautiful dining room for service from 7:00 am to 11:00 am. The food is well prepared, with a beautiful presentation and a wide assortment of choices that taste very good. We had no complaints and enjoyed it very much. From the fresh fruit of grapes, watermelon, pineapple, and honeydew melon to yogurt with ot without fruit, dry cereals, an assortment of fresh pastries, toast, jams and honey, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms. Delicious juices such as apple, pineapple, pear, and orange. Plus, there are two very nice coffee machines for things such as cappuccino, espressos, and multiple other choices. The staff was very attentive and kept the area and tables clean throughout the entire experience. The hotel also has a small bar in the lobby, with a nice selection of spirits for you to choose from. There's also a good menu of food to choose from should you decide to have a meal in your room. We got two delicious cheeseburgers with bacon and some amazing french fries right after we checked in. We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel.

Just left and although it was an " Almost Perfect " stay, I'm giving them 5 stars. Almost was because the original staff ( 2 seemingly inexperienced 19 year Olds ) didn't make much of an effort to help correct a mistake w the type of bed we had. However, upon returning to checkin, the manager was there and he swiftly fixed the mistake. So my only complaint is the property is so new and has so many young ,, possibly not as experienced foreigners working here that things that shoukd be resolved in moments..dont . Get it, worked around it and everyone was always polite for the record. Now, the rooms are smallish, nothing new. But the property still feels new and is surprisingly clean and in good shape ...everywhere. Our view on the 5th floor was incredible ( and not expected ). The gym is very small, but has free weights and an adjustable bench . The bartenders are amazing here and straight up Class Acts. The only other small disappointment was the breakfast. After so many amazing breakfast all over Spain the last few weeks, this one finally ended thar run. 3 waiters doing nothing when they should be asking guests for refills, more napkins, etc. Very sloppy breakfast crew and just cold/mediocre selections. Sad way to leave thia spectacular property PROS -A quick walk from the Train Station -New,super clean property -If you stay on higher floors, you get some GREAT views of the city -AMAZING Bartenders CONS - some of the younger staff is not as well trained on solving small issues that affect comfort ( not good ) -Medicare breakfast ( I'd say skip it unless you get it complimentary like we did )

OCA Oriental is a charming hotel. Even though it holds 4 stars, in my opinion it doesn't deserve it. Upon arrival, I paid 6 euros for "taxa turistíca" for 3 nights by cash on top of the payment for 3 nights by card. The day I left, i noticed on the invoice that "taxa turistica" was included in the payment i did by card. I told the recepcionist I paid taxa turistica twice, upon arrival by cash and apprently included in the payment by card". She was careless saying that she was not there the day i arrived... I have to pay taxa turistica in my own country for business trips and at OCA they make you pay twice without even trying to understand or help you! The room was on the 2nd floor directly with a view of the very noisy and busy street of Rua Padre António Vieira. Even at night with the window closed, i was disturbed by cars and buses passing on a defective manhole cover installed in the street. I told the recepcionist about this situation and I was told that they couldn't solve the problem. The bed was comfortable but as they don't use duvet covers, they place it into 2 gigantic bedsheets, turning the bed into a mess when you move... The room was cleaned everyday with evident signals of the lack of will to make things perfect. Forgetting to change water glasses as an example.. In common areas, watch out where you walk, floors are sometimes wet and after cleaning they don't use a sign to indicate wet floors. My experience at OCA was definitely not a convincing and I don't recommend it at all.

A disappointing experience for a 4-star hotel

My experience at the Oca Hotel in Porto was, unfortunately, far below expectations for a hotel that claims to be 4 stars. Upon entering the room, I was shocked to find a dirty piece of paper on the bathroom floor, which immediately raised serious concerns about the cleanliness of the place.

Another major issue was staying on the first floor, where the noise from the air conditioning machines in the hallway made it impossible to have a peaceful night. The constant noise made it unbearable, and we had to request a room change as staying there was not feasible. However, even after switching rooms, the poor sound insulation remained an issue. We could clearly hear the guests next door taking showers and the footsteps of people walking in the room above, which significantly affected our rest.

The most unpleasant episode occurred at the hotel's restaurant. One evening, we decided to dine there but had to wait over an hour to be served, even though there were available tables. The staff was clearly understaffed: a single employee was overwhelmed, trying to handle a large group of guests in addition to other customers. He was visibly exhausted and confused, which led us to even offer a tip out of sympathy. This lack of organization was frustrating and unacceptable for a hotel of this standard.

Breakfast brought another odd situation: whenever the kitchen door opened, loud music could be heard coming from inside. This kind of informal and noisy environment further contributed to the impression of carelessness, completely at odds with the tranquility and sophistication one would expect from a 4-star hotel.

In summary, despite the staff being polite, the hotel suffers from significant issues with cleanliness, soundproofing, and organization. Moreover, the overall atmosphere feels far below the advertised standard. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and high-quality...
