Amazing hospitality from an incredible resort
This is our first time visiting Doha in mid-Sept 2002, and staying at The Ritz-Carlton branded resort for three nights with a baby, we were totally blown away by the amazing hospitality of the staff, the village-inspired architecture and the traditional decor of the resort.
We had few separate bookings done at different time including American Express Fine Hotel & Resort booking plus two additional nights booked with Marriott Bonvoy points with Titanium Elite status. Since the resort is under the Ritz-Carlton brand, the suite night awards (SNA) couldn't be applied on the booking to help secure the room upgrade. We were allocated to the Deluxe King Room with a furnished balcony where you have the Arabian sea view close to the private beach of the resort. Next to the king bed, we also have a crib for the baby. The marble bathroom comes with separate shower and tub, and toilet with bidet. The room also comes with a mini-bar with refrigerator and Nespresso coffee machine. The room has the Qatari design that is very different to any other hotel rooms we have stayed in the past and indeed was what we were looking for.
We love the traditional decor and architecture of the resort, the lobby looks amazing when the light cast on the atrium wall from different angles. The facilities in SPA was incredible with many treatment rooms, and the fitness centre, steam room, sauna, hot/code pools are complimentary to the hotel guests.
During our stay, we had an awesome experience with all the staff we have met. Specifically, frontend desk helped us setup the Ehteraz mobile app and answered many questions we had. While the concierge team took care of our travel planning need in all possible way, and was above and beyond my expectation with the special arrangement for our wedding anniversary with a 1 year old baby by the pool side. Staff from Al Liwan restaurant had been super friendly and helpful that introduced me the available cuisines and catered all our needs, we were also surprised by their special arrangement for us at our last breakfast from our stay. We also had an amazing Persian cuisine at Parisa restaurant where we could use the food and beverage credit from American Express Fine Hotel & Resort booking.
We would like to take the opportunity to shout out the Concierge team Mr. Jaime, Ms. Minuri, Ms. Shakila, the front desk team, Mr. Kadlen, Mr. Faozi and everyone from the Aliwan restaurant including Abdelhadi, Boutayna, Meryem, Heryem, Nissvivnne, Diya, Afae.
We were very much appreciated with the friendly hospitality we had experienced at this resort, and the facilities it has to offer, and wish we could have stayed longer. The positive experience we had was beyond our expectation and unmatched so far in our experience with hotels and resort. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable. We hope to be back soon!
I wish The Ritz-Carlton Sharq Village, Doha continue to succeed with the incredible staff and will not hesitate to recommend this place for...
Read more0 SAFETY, 0 PROFESSIONALISM We went there on our day off to "enjoy" the beach as a family of 4 + our helper. We ended up leaving by ambulances to 2 different hospital emergencies. (sidra for my 1 year old to be checked and hamad for my helper) and stayed all day long in the emergency to treat the injuries scan the head and take proper measures (suturing, medications ...)
What happened was that wind ( around 1 pm)caused unsecured beach umbrellas to get detached and hit my helper in the head as she was holding my 1 year old baby. Had that umbrella hit my baby she would have probably suffered from severe head damage. My adult helper started bleeding and I had to cover my daughter to shield her from other umbrellas. It was beyond imagination. We had to run barefoot carrying my baby and holding my helper who was bleeding and panicking all the way to a shielded spot where we started shouting to get help as workers were running to the other side.
People rushed before helpers arrived. Ambulances were called we were left in a complete state of shock as her head was bleeding and we weren't sure about my baby s state as she was crying hysterically at first and we couldn't really tell if an umbrella managed to get to her in any way or she was just scared .
We had to spend our day running between hospitals as my daughter was taken to a children s hospital and my helper to hamad.
My daughter was clinically examined and LHAMDULLILAH she was fine.
My helper had to undergo head ct-scan, anesthesia, blood tests, head suturing, dizziness, bleeding and an unbearable headache. She was discharged around 9 pm from the hospital.
And the following day we get a call from them : The baby and the helper are fine now? I said yes but wr still need to go to the health center many times to get the stitches cleaned and then remove them and she ofc still has headaches.
Their reply was: so they are fine . Thank you. Bye.
No apologies No decency No accountability. The wind isn't something new to Qatar it happens almost daily and it is a resort with beach access with all knowledge of such incidents. But they haven't secured all the umbrellas. This negligence is NOT ACCEPTABLE for such PREDICTABLE and PREVENTABLE cases. What is also not acceptable is the way they handled the situation as if nothing happened. 2 days later they called to invite us for a day there N.B: We paid 500 riyals for entrance. So their "compensation" is by far ridiculous compared to how TRAUMATIC that was for all of us in...
Read moreIt was a first time stay at Sharq village, and as well a first time staycation. Upon arrival, the ambience was great , everything looked clean and well but I felt a strange feeling in the atmosphere. That bad feeling did not last long as we were approached by staff member Augustine who noticed I was looking a bit unsettled. He broke the ice immediately and asked what was wrong. The way he showed concern triggered my trust and I immediately expressed my concerns, some general and some personal. The way, he spoke really reassured me, warmed me and made me feel right at home, so much that I really enjoyed my stay at Sharq village. I felt so welcomed in a way that I did not experience in my nearly four years in a public space in Doha. This is very precious especially during these hard pandemic times.
I can tell by the was Augustine spoke, that I he has vast experience and can prove it in the way he carries himself and the way he solves customer issues.
I am in customer service industry and I could tell it was genuine care and from the heart. He was empathetic. Listened deligently, provided solution in a satisfactory manner.
Such Staff like Augustine are an asset to the establishment and I feel very luckY he was there on that day at reception area.
The staff member in dish dash, Arabic attire, reflecting the country culture and diversity, warmly offered some Arabic coffee and I was reminded of my first day in Qatar where I barely knew the meaning of this offering, and I really felt welcomed this time around.
The staff who processed our check in and payment was eloquent in speech and processed our check in very fast and was much appreciated by myself. I don’t remember his name unfortunately.
Staff member Raju was kind enough to assist with bags up to villa room and we don’t take it for granted. We appreciate the entire team efforts.
While at the premises, we visited tasting room where ms. Suele exceeded our expectations with a constant smile even though mask is covering but I could feel it radiating through her eyes. Her interactions and energy consistent always. My fiancé really appreciated the well chilled beverage and ms. suele and colleague Gorrich were running tasting room competently. I will definitely visit in my free time, with or without in-house reservations.
Breakfast was memorable with staff member Jaycee assisting with requests and great service as well.
All in all a ten out of ten experience for...
