Update: A few weeks after I posted my reviews on google and booking, I received an Email telling that I'm now banned from the hotel, which goes to show how well Hotel Biscuit takes constructive criticism.
This was easily my worst experience in any hotel.
It took us a while to figure out to how to get to the entrance, since this hotel is actually part of an apartment building, and you have to go up some stairs and then behind the building to get to the entrance.
The bed is about 30 cm off the ground, with a thin and super uncomfortable and bumpy mattress... the pillow were even thinner, and when i asked for 2 extra pillows the staff simply said NO! You get one pillow per person.. however the next night we asked again and we got 1 extra pillow for 2 people.
Housekeeping is basically nonexistent, when we asked the staff for clean towels, they said they didn’t know if we needed towels because we had already left the room, even though we had left all the towels on the floor to be changed. And then when they did bring us clean towels we only got one hand towel and one body towel (for 2 people).
The bathroom had mold above the shower. The floor had dents under the carpet and we kept tripping on them during our stay, Also their wifi was so bad, that we had to use our 4G while staying there.
The air conditioning was making periodic clinking sounds when it was on.
The last of our stay we came back from a comedy show, and we were discussing the performance, then John from reception knocked really violently on our door, and simple said “Silent please!!” When we went back to reception to understand what the problem was and to apologize, there was already someone else queuing up to complain about their bed.
In the morning we got one plate of breakfast from the buffet and a cup of coffee, and we were charged for 2 breakfasts!
I’m usually not the one to write these long reviews, but this hotel really made me wanna do it, and i felt like i got way less value for my money.
I honestly don’t get how the other travelers rated this hotel so highly when we felt both physically and emotionally uncomfortable...
Read moreWe had the Mexico room which I would strongly recommend. My friend slept in the bedroom and I slept in the living room. The couch turns into a VERY comfortable bed. I prefer very firm mattress so the futon option worked great for me plus there was a door to shut to the bedroom so I didn't bother my friend(I'm a snorer). I knew the hotel was hard to find so I researched it thoroughly on google earth. It is located in the Zorilor neighbourhood which is about a 30min walk to the centre down hill, but remember, you have to walk up hill to get back! Thus the problem with this hotel. If you're in good shape and like a brisk up hill walk that it shouldn't be an issue. Breakfast was interesting but good. Very different breakfast options in a tight space. The food was placed right in a walkway so It was problematic to eat there because you were always in the way of someone wanting to get by through the tight squeeze. I would recommend this hotel but keep it mind of the hill and that it is hard to find and located in an apartment tower but the...
Read moreCosy, modern, friendly staff. The rooms are a mix between modern furniture and retro design. Not very big but with all you need. The staff is friendly and helpfull. The breakfast feels a lot more upscale. Some on demand cooking and a small selection of foods that you might actually order in an restaurant.
On the downside, our bed was broken in the firts room. We quickly got another room. Appliances are modest at best. Ok hair dryer in some of the rooms and only one iron that was leaking water. Just used it without water and it did the job. Some rooms have hotel information booklets, some don't, some rooms have an armchair, some don't. Cracked wall paint here and there. On the second floor, some rooms have almost no wifi or radio reception. And yes, the location is not stellar but really not that bad either. Price is very hard to beat though in other hotels.
Overall, a good stay but might look to air b&b next...
