Este amplasat în Sectorul Sistematic, fiind utilizat în trecut ca rezervor de apă necesară irigării grădinii botanice. În prezent reprezintă un important punct de observație pentru vizitatori, care pot admira diversitatea speciilor de arbori din această parte a grădinii botanice, precum și structura coronamentelor de foioase și rășinoase.
