Hotel Gorj — Hotel in Târgu Jiu

The rooms are not so big and have a basic furniture rather old. You can see that the hotel is very old. The sheets and the towels were clean. The street is noisy at night because it s located in the city center right beside the park were poarta sarutului and masa tacerii made by Brâncuși are situated. It s nice that there is a supermarket near the hotel. The restaurant is old and it has few options to chose from but the food is fresh made and the portions are big. Also they don t have many beverages to chose from. The breakfast is 20 lei per person but in my opinion you can make sandwiches from.the supermarket. Well where to begin it’s only three positives central location, the room was clean and it was an ok price (this may be due to all the negative things)||||I booked via booking.com and the content was massively incorrect in terms of facilities there are none of what was advertised. ||||One light bulb in the bedroom worked, the TV did not work, the phone did not work, no smoke alarms, the shower doors fell off (I fixed them the invoice is in the post). this is probably the main hotel in Targu Jiu and after a not a pleasant experience at another hotel there we chose to stay here but as somebody who lived few years during the Communism i was not too happy to see again the reminisce of those time in this hotel. the rooms were dark, with old furniture, the restaurant with no style and the management and the staff at reception behaving like they will do you a favor. the hotel has the advantage of being in the center of town so easy to just get out and see the nice piece of art of Brancusi in the near park but hotel itself really need a new management and some investment. if you look for something central is a good option but do not...
