Trattoria da Vittoria — Restaurant in Târgu Jiu

Probably the best and unique restaurant in Targu Jiu, especially if you're into Italian cuisine. The place has different saloons for smoking and for non smoking people. The interior design is breathtaking, with black leather couches, black chairs and brown tables. The lighting is very warming and there's also a piano, great for stories on social media. The place is very quietly although there's an ambiant music. Once you get to the bathrooms you'll understand that this is a premium restaurant because the attention to the details is amazing. The food is very diverse and made in the Italian way as it's supposed to be since it's an Italian specific restaurant. There's also an excellent terrace for the people that prefer to stay outside. I give this place 3 stars, not becuase the food warrants it but becuase the service was fantastic and attentive and becuase I genuinely wish this place well for the future as they are clearly trying to do something different and offer more than the overall poor standard of food in Targu Jiu.

Both dishes we ordered were completely bland and lacked any flavour, flair or love, it's as if the chef has a fear of seasoning his/her food. Perhaps becuase it's a relatively new restaurants, but it was a shame as we took a punt on this place after being served a delicious red wine.

The menu is far too big, opt for quality over quantity, I look forward to trying again in the future with an improved menu and confidence...

If the lamb would have been as hot as the wine and the wine as cold as the lamb, everything would have been just perfect 🤕 one year later, food average, service poor especially during peak hours (evening). Tip: don't order a 300ml cocktail, order 2, because only together they will have the specified quantity ☹️ 2024: extremely poor service, more than one hour waiting without any waiter coming to the table. Too bad can't award zero stars. 2025: I've been served the most overcooked duck ever, rubberish and no taste at all. I am now convinced this place is only good for a drink or two and maybe some basic food, like pizza. For dishes which need real cooking skills, go someplace else or...
